Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system and method for ensuring a controlled supply source of web material 34 to be dispensed through at least one dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24. The method involves providing at least one dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24 to a web material provider 26 or 28 at reduced or no charge, providing exhausting means 14, 16 or 18 to the web material provider 26 or 28 for periodically activating at least one dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24 in return for consideration 40, transferring at least one dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24 from the web material provider 26 or 28 to an end user 32 at reduced or no charge to the end user 32, wherein the web material provider 26 or 28 provides web material 34 to be dispensed from at least one dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24 to the end user 32 in return for consideration and transferring the exhausting means 14, 16 or 18 to the end user 32 for periodically activating at least one dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24 in return for consideration 40 from the end user 32 which consideration is built into the consideration the end user gives to the product provider 26 or 28 so that the additional consideration for the activation means is transparent to the end user 32. The system comprises a dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24 for dispensing web material 34, a credit carrying device 14, 16 or 18 for storing a predetermined number of credits 36 corresponding to a predetermined amount of web material 34 to be dispensed by a dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24, wherein the credit carrying device 14, 16 or 18 interacts with the dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24 to provide credit information to the dispenser 2, 4, 6 or 24 corresponding to at least a portion of the credits 36 on the credit carrying device 14, 16 or 18, a reading device 42 interacting with the credit carrying device 14, 16 or 18 for reading at least a portion of the credit information 36 stored on the credit carrying device 14, 16 or 18 and an activation device 44, in communication with the reading device 42, selectively activating the dispenser in response to credit information received from the credit carrying device 14, 16 or 18.
Abstract:
A support device for supporting a cylindrical member around which is wound an elongated body has: a support shaft for supporting the cylindrical member that is fitted to an external surface of the support shaft from an opening on one end in a longitudinal direction of the cylindrical member; an anchoring plates, built into the support shaft, for anchoring the cylindrical member from an inner circumferential side of the cylindrical member; and an operating means having an operation shaft of a smaller diameter than the support shaft, the operation shaft protruding forward from a distal end of the support shaft in order to operate the anchoring plates. Further, the support device has a protecting member which is attached to the distal end of the support shaft and through which is inserted the operation shaft. The protecting member further has a reduced-diameter section smaller in diameter than the support shaft.
Abstract:
A removable media dam for a media input tray. The removable media dam is mountable in a front wall of the media tray and may contain one or more rollers for feeding media from the media input tray. The removable media dam includes a separator roll positioner for angularly rotating a separator roll between a retracted position and an extended position to adjust the height of the separator roll with respect to a media contact surface thereby varying the media sheet separation force applied by the separator roll to media sheets being fed from the media tray. In one form, the removable media dam is mountable by a user without the use of tools.
Abstract:
A method for processing flexible, two-dimensional products (30, 32, 36, 38) during the print further processing, in which at least one product is provided with an RFID tag (100, 200, 200a, 200b). The RFID tag or tags (100, 200, 200a, 200b) contains or contain at least one piece of control information and/or at least one piece of product information. This information is used for inspecting and/or controlling a work step for the products (30, 32, 36, 38).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an adhesive tape for a flying reel change of a flat material wound up over a reel, provided with a main support, a self-adhesive composition on the face side and at least, on the back side, one strip of a double-sided adhesive tape which has a detachable support provided on its two sides with a self-adhesive composition. The invention is characterized in that the adhesive tape is provided with at least one device which can be detected by an optical detector.
Abstract:
An RFID enabled paper roll includes a tubular core, a paper stock wound around the core, and a radio frequency integrated circuit electrically coupled to an antenna and positioned on the core. A system for reading a radio frequency integrated circuit positioned on an item of inventory in a warehouse comprises a material handling device and an RFID reader coupled to the material handling device. The material handling device has at least member for use in transporting an item of inventory. The reader is configured to read the radio frequency integrated circuit associated with the item of inventory when the item is in proximity to the material handling device.
Abstract:
A good transport system includes a network of rails and a plurality of trolleys that travel on the rails. Read/write assembles are disposed on the rails and are used to read data from, and to write data on data carriers which are mounted on the trolleys. When a trolley is loaded, data regarding the goods loaded on the trolley is written onto the data carrier. That data is deleted when the goods are unloaded from the trolley.

Please add the Abstract of the disclosure as set forth on the separate accompanying sheet. That Abstract of the Disclosure is essentially the same, in content, as the Abstract which is a part of the published PCT application WO 03/080484 A1. No new matter is being added by the presentation of this Abstract of the Disclosure.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an adhesive tape for automatic replacement of rolls around which is wound a material in the form of a flat strip. Said adhesive tape comprises a main support and a self-adhesive substance on the front surface, and at least a fissile self-adhesive system on the rear surface. The invention is characterized in that the rear surface is further provided with a non-fissile self-adhesive system.
Abstract:
A process for producing a roll of a flat web material, in which first of all a flat web is produced by a conventional method and is wound up to form a roll, and in which the end region of the flat web is bonded to the roll with a spliceable adhesive tape, without the end region of the flat web having been bonded to the roll.
