Abstract: Provided are methods and an apparatuses for congestion control. In an apparatus for congestion control, which includes a processor and a processor, the transceiver is configured to receive a policy and charging control (PCC) rule from a policy control function (PCF) network element, where the PCC rule includes a first congestion control indication; and the processor is configured to determine a quality of service (QOS) flow for transmitting a first service data flow based on the first congestion control indication. The transceiver is also configured to send a congestion control indication associated with the QoS flow and a QoS flow identifier of the QoS flow to an access network device.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for facilitating roaming of terminal device. According to an embodiment, a session management node operable in a home network receives, from another session management node operable in a visiting network, a quality of service (QoS) policy per a roaming agreement between the visiting network and the home network during establishment of a protocol data unit (PDU) session for a terminal device. The session management node retrieves, from a subscriber management node, subscribed QoS parameters of the terminal device. The session management node obtains a result that is generated based on the QoS policy per the roaming agreement and the subscribed QoS parameters of the terminal device.

Abstract: Implementation of an application rule for an application to be accessed by a User Equipment, UE, in a user session in a Service Based Architecture, SBA, domain in a core network of a telecommunications system is disclosed. The method comprising the steps of receiving, by the PCF (6), an application rule comprising an AF Identifier, AF-ID, identifying the application rule, an Application Identifier, App-ID, identifying the application, and at least one service requirement for processing the application in the SBA domain. The PCF (6) instructing the SMF (9) to execute the at least one service requirement to all present and future user sessions pertaining to the respective application. Complementary methods of supporting the execution of the application rule and devices are also presented.

Abstract: Receiving Internet Protocol (IP) data content having an associated file type and service port number is disclosed. Determining a level of service for a portable wireless transceiver is further disclosed. The level of service may be associated with the file type, the service port number and a saturation of users in a cell of the wireless transceiver. On a condition the level of service is determined to be a partial service level, data content may be delivered to the portable wireless transceiver at a limited data rate. On a condition the level of service is determined to be a full service level, the data content may be delivered to the portable wireless transceiver at a data rate higher than the limited data rate.

Abstract: A third-party application, executing at a mobile device, may be provided with information describing congestion levels in a network, such as a cellular wireless network through which the mobile device connects. In one implementation, the third-party application may select, based on the information describing the congestion levels, a data flow, from a number of data flows, to use when communicating with a destination device, each of the data flows being associated with different quality of service (QoS) parameters and being associated with different charging rates. The mobile device may communicate, through a proxy server, and using the selected data flow, with the destination device. The communication with the destination device may be implemented using sponsored data that is not charged to an account associated with an owner of the mobile device.
