摘要: A radio access network (RAN) intelligent controller (RIC) and corresponding method may be implemented within RAN and in next-generation cellular networks to improve performance. The RIC comprises an interface to a RAN and further comprises a data-driven logic unit. The data-driven logic unit (i) produces, based on data received from the RAN via the interface, a representation describing a state of the RAN and (ii) based on the representation describing the state, instructs an action associated with at least one network element. The interface transmits a message based on the action instructed. The message is to be routed to the at least one network element. The representation is based on a context of the RAN. The message transmitted enabling re-configuration of the at least one network element. The re-configuration improves performance of the at least one network element within the context.

摘要: Systems and methods for managing traffic in a hybrid environment include monitoring traffic load of a local network to determine whether the traffic load exceeds or is likely to exceed a maximum traffic load, where the maximum traffic load is a traffic load for which a service can be provided by the local network, based on a license. An excess traffic load is determined if the traffic load exceeds or is likely to exceed the maximum traffic load. One or more external networks which have a capacity to provide the service to the excess traffic load are determined, to which the excess traffic load is migrated. The local network includes one or more service instances for providing the service for up to the maximum traffic load, and the service to the excess traffic load is provided by one or more additional service instances in the one or more external networks.

摘要: A first radio network node for assisting application adjustment is configured to receive a potential quality of service change notification (PQCN) from a second radio network; associate the PQCN with an in-advance quality of service prediction notification (IQN) recipient based on a mapping between a request for an IQN from an IQN recipient and an existing PQCN subscription, wherein the mapping is established based on a location, a required quality of service (QoS) and at least one of: configuration information associated with the IQN recipient or subscription information associated with the IQN recipient; and send an IQN to the IQN recipient for assisting the application adjustment.

A device may identify a frame received from a second device, the frame indicative of fifth-generation (5G) quality-of-service (QoS) characteristics; determine an Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) Security Parameter Index (SPI) field, the IPSec SPI field; generate, using a wireless local area network station (WLAN STA) of the device, a request frame, the request frame including a requested 802.11 User Priority, and comprising an IPSec information element, the IPSec information element including an IPSec Security Protocol field indicative of an encapsulated security protocol, the IPSec information element further including the IPSec SPI field and a destination Internet Protocol (IP) address; send the request frame to an access point; and identify a response frame received, from the access point device, the response frame indicative of an admission or rejection of the requested 802.11 User Priority.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for providing bandwidth which can be used to support network connectivity and to obtain services from elements in a network, e.g., 5G network, are described. In various embodiments a DOCSIS link is connects a residential gateway at a customer premises to devices outside the customer premises, e.g., to devices in a 5G network or another network. Devices which support EAP authentication are provided with their dedicated bandwidth over the DOCSIS link. Devices which do not support EAP authentication, e,g, WiFi devices, share bandwidth to which a subscriber residing at the customer premise subscribes. Devices which support EAP authentication are provided reserved resources corresponding to a subscription associated with the individual device thereby allowing a user of a device which supports EAP authentication to obtain more bandwidth than is normally provided to a visited premises based on the service subscription associated with the visiting device.

摘要: The described technology is generally directed towards reallocating power to devices in a group, such as a rack of servers in a datacenter, when no power headroom remains available. Respective devices, which are classified into respective classes corresponding to respective priority device class levels, have power distributed thereto. Upon determining that available power headroom for power capacity distribution among the group of devices has reached an available power capacity distribution lower limit (e.g., zero), reallocation is performed by increasing power capacity allocated to a first device of a higher priority level class, and decreasing power capacity allocated to a second device of a lower priority level class. For more classes, such as high, medium and low, the power can be decreased among the lower priority level classes by a defined ratio, e.g., two-to-one between the medium and low priority classes.
