摘要: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a two-dimensional laser diode array comprising preparing a structured gallium nitride bulk substrate, a lower cladding layer, a lower light guide layer, a light-emitting layer, electron blocking layers, an upper light guide layer, an upper cladding layer, a subcontact layer, and includes forming, in GaN substrate (1) with thickness of at least 200 μm, light beam deflectors (15) by applying photoresist on the GaN substrate (1), irradiating it, developing it, and subsequently etching the applied layer in order to obtain the light beam deflectors (15). The invention relates also to a two-dimensional laser diode array manufactured using the method according to the invention.

A dichroic beam combiner or volume Bragg grating beam combiner is placed in an external cavity to force each of the diode lasers or groups of diode lasers to oscillate at a wavelength determined by the passband of the beam combiner. In embodiments the combination of a large number of laser diodes in a sufficiently narrow bandwidth to produce a high brightness laser source that has many applications including as to pump a Raman laser or Raman amplifier.

摘要: The light source device according to the present disclosure includes a light source, a light transmission part, a light intensity converter, and a collimator. The light source includes a plurality of semiconductor laser elements. The collimator includes a first lens array that has a plurality of collimator lenses. Each collimator lens collimates laser light emitted from a single semiconductor laser element. The light intensity converter includes a second lens array that has a plurality of lens arrays. Each lens array includes a plurality of lens cells so as to uniformize a light intensity distribution of the laser beam emitted from the single semiconductor laser element. The light intensity converter is disposed on a main surface of the light transmission part on the light source side. The collimator is disposed on a surface of the light transmission part opposite to the light source side.

摘要: A beam generating device includes a semiconductor substrate, having an optical passband. A first array of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) is formed on a first face of the semiconductor substrate and are configured to emit respective laser beams through the substrate at a wavelength within the passband. A second array of microlenses is formed on a second face of the semiconductor substrate in respective alignment with the VCSELs so as to transmit the laser beams generated by the VCSELs. The VCSELs are configured to be driven to emit the laser beams in predefined groups in order to change a characteristic of the laser beams.

A subset of the plurality of laser emitters includes a string of laser emitters that are connected such that an anode of at least one laser emitter of the subset is connected to a cathode of an adjacent laser emitter of the subset. A driver transistor of the plurality of driver transistors is configured to control a current flowing through the string.

摘要: Disclosed are a light source system and a laser light source (300). The laser light source includes two groups of laser groups (20a, 20b), wherein at least one group of laser groups includes at least two lasers (21a, 21b, 21c, 21d), and the light beams (L1) generated by the two groups of laser groups are in the same direction and parallel to each other. The first projections of the two groups of laser groups on the cross section of the light beams formed by the respective emergent light rays thereof are partially overlapped with the second projections in a first direction, which first direction is the connection direction of at least two laser centres of a group of laser groups. The laser light source has the effects of being able to effectively increase the light power density and at the same time reduce the volume of the light source.

摘要: Described herein are optical sensing devices for photonic integrated circuits (PICs). A PIC may comprise a plurality of waveguides formed in a silicon on insulator (SOI) substrate, and a plurality of heterogeneous lasers, each laser formed from a silicon material of the SOI substrate and to emit an output wavelength comprising an infrared wavelength. Each of these lasers may comprise a resonant cavity included in one of the plurality of waveguides, and a gain material comprising a non-silicon material and adiabatically coupled to the respective waveguide. A light directing element may direct outputs of the plurality of heterogeneous lasers from the PIC towards an object, and one or more detectors may detect light from the plurality of heterogeneous lasers reflected from or transmitted through the object.

摘要: An optical device may include a semiconductor laser chip to independently generate four laser beams at different wavelengths. Each laser beam, of the four laser beams, may be directed to a respective optical output of the optical device with a sub-micron level of tolerance of each laser beam relative to the respective optical outputs of the optical device, and each laser beam, of the four laser beams, may be associated with a different optical path from the semiconductor laser chip to the respective optical output of the optical device. The optical device may include a lens to receive each of the four laser beams. The lens may be positioned to direct each laser beam, of the four laser beams, toward the respective optical output of the optical device. The optical device may include an optical isolator to receive each of the four laser beams.
