    摘要: The invention relates to a valve, in particular a sample injection valve, for a device (1) for synthesizing, analyzing, and/or separating, comprising at least three liquid connections (3′, 4′, 5′, 6′, 7′, 7″), a housing (8) as a valve part, and a valve body (9) as another valve part for selectively connecting the liquid connections (3′, 4′, 5′, 6′, 7′, 7″) by means of at least one flow channel (10, 11, 12) bounded at least partially by sealing surfaces (10′, 11′, 12′) between the housing (8) and the valve body (9), wherein the housing (8) and/or the valve body (9) are supported in such a way as to be movable relative to each other. In order to create a one-way valve, at least one valve part (8 or 9) adjacent to the sealing surface (10′, 11′, 12′) and made of a plastic material can be plastically deformed according to a relative position (9′), in particular of the valve body (9), in order to be able to withstand the elevated pressure loads in the flow channel (10, 11, 12) in a liquid-tight manner in the relative position (9′), in particular of the valve body (9).

    摘要: A connector with a biocompatible fluid passageway to be used as a column filter retainer and the method for manufacturing it is described. The connector has a reinforcement insert and a biocompatible molding covering portions of the reinforcement insert. The reinforcement insert has a first portion, a second portion, and a middle portion between the first portion and the second portion. The first and second portions have threaded sections and each have a plurality of non-threaded sections. For a given portion, the junction of the non-threaded sections forms a lip by which to prevent the molded material from flowing into the threaded sections. In certain embodiments, an interior web is used in the reinforcement insert to provide additional structural support.

    摘要: Described is a method for purging a fluid channel is a low pressure gradient formation liquid flow system. Control of the fluid channels for multiple solvents allows for one or more static volumes of solvents not intended for use in an isocratic flow to be purged from their fluid channels to avoid contamination of the isocratic solvent. Advantageously, the method avoids the need to modify equipment or to reconfigure a pumping system so that the inlet is directly coupled to a single solvent source. Thus there is no need to bypass existing valves and liquid coupling components where solvents are combined during conventional gradient operation.

    摘要: A detector for detecting constituents of a liquid for use in liquid chromatography is disclosed. The detector includes a first optical flow cell body and a second optical flow cell body, each having a channel therethrough that allows passage of a liquid from an inlet port to an outlet port. The first and second optical flow cell bodies are arranged in series such that the liquid exiting the outlet port of the first optical flow cell body enters the inlet port of the second optical flow cell body. An insulator resides between the first optical flow cell body and the second optical flow cell body, which is adapted to electrically insulate the first optical flow cell body from the second optical flow cell body while allowing the liquid to pass from the first optical flow cell body to the second optical flow cell body. The first optical flow cell body is adapted to facilitate measurement of absorption by the liquid of a first wavelength of light, and second optical flow cell body is adapted to facilitate measurement of absorption by the liquid of a second wavelength of light. The first and second optical flow cell bodies are further adapted to perform as electrodes for measuring the conductivity of the liquid.
