摘要: An auto stop-start equipped vehicle power management system includes a primary power source supplying energy to an electrical starter to crank a vehicle engine and a secondary power source coupled in parallel to the primary power source. The secondary power source supplies energy to electric loads during an engine auto stop-start operation. The electrical loads maintain vehicle subsystem functionality during the engine auto stop-start operation. The energy supplied to the electrical loads is current limited during the engine auto stop-start operation. A controllable switch decouples the secondary power source from the primary power source and starter motor during the engine auto stop-start operation. Operating parameters of the electrical loads are monitored during the engine auto stop-start operation. If a respective operating parameter threshold associated with the electrical loads is exceeded during the engine auto stop-start operation, then the vehicle engine is automatically restarted and the controllable switch is subsequently closed.

摘要: An engine controlling apparatus for executing (i) an engine automatic stop control and/or (ii) an engine automatic restart control, during running of a vehicle. The controlling apparatus includes: an allowing/inhibiting device configured to selectively allow and inhibit execution of (i) the engine automatic stop control and/or (ii) the engine automatic restart control, by comparing each of at least one of (a) a plurality of physical amounts including (a-1) behavior-representing physical amounts and (a-2) turning-behavior-influencing physical amounts, with (b) a threshold value which is determined, depending on a running velocity of the vehicle, for the each of the at least one of the physical amounts. The behavior-representing physical amounts include at least one turning-behavior-representing physical amount. The allowing/inhibiting device includes a turning-behavior-basis allowing/inhibiting portion that is configured to selectively allow and inhibit the execution of (i) the engine automatic stop control and/or (ii) the engine automatic restart control, by comparing each of the at least one turning-behavior-representing physical amount, with the threshold value.

摘要: A controller is capable of controlling a coupled engine running mode, in which an engine is coupled to wheels and an engine brake is activated by driven rotation of the engine, and a coasting mode, in which an engine brake force is reduced with respect to that in the coupled engine running mode with mode with the engine brake on, and starts the coasting mode on the basis of the steering angle of a steering member. The controller starts the execution of a first coasting mode when the steering angle is equal to or less than a preset upper limit value and starts the execution of a second coasting mode when the steering angle is greater than the upper limit value. In the first coasting mode, the engine rotation is stopped, and in the second coasting mode, the engine remains rotating.

摘要: There is provided an engine restart control device. A controller is configured to stop an engine which is adapted to generate a driving force for running a vehicle when a predetermined stop condition is met and configured to restart the engine when a predetermined restart condition is met after stopping the engine. A steering torque detector is configured to detect a steering torque of a steering handle which is adapted to be operated by a driver. A reaction force generator is configured to give a steering reaction force to the steering handle. The controller restarts the engine when the steering torque detected by the steering torque detector exceeds a predetermined threshold and control the reaction force generator to give the steering reaction force to the steering handle until the steering torque detected by the steering torque detector exceeds the predetermined threshold.

摘要: Satisfactory restartability has not been obtained so far because the timing of opening an exhaust valve of a cylinder under expansion stroke is adjusted for improvement of startability and a valve adjusting mechanism is always controlled in the same manner regardless of the engine status at start. In the invention, control is performed to adjust the timing of closing an intake valve so that an effective compression ratio of a cylinder under compression stroke reduces. Also, the effective compression ratio of the compression stroke cylinder is decided based on a piston position at engine restart. By varying the intake valve closing timing in the expansion stroke cylinder to reduce the effective compression ratio depending on the engine status at restart, it is possible to lessen a load imposed on a starter when the engine is restarted, and to improve startability without complicating the engine system.

摘要: In an automatic transmission which comprises: a starter motor for starting an engine and a hydraulic pressure source having a main pump driven by the engine and an assist pump driven by an electric motor, when an idling stop control unit outputs an idling stop signal to an engine control unit, an engine and an assist pump are stopped. When the idling stop control unit receives an OFF signal from a brake switch, the idling stop control unit outputs a cancellation command for canceling an idling stop operation to the engine control unit to drive a starter motor and the assist pump.
