    摘要: An arc welding system includes a welding power supply. An auxiliary power supply supplies electrical energy to an auxiliary load. An engine-generator is connected to the welding power supply and auxiliary power supply. An engine starting battery is connected to the auxiliary power supply to supply electrical energy thereto during starting of the engine-generator. An auxiliary load sensor is configured to detect a presence of an electrical load on the auxiliary power supply. A speed sensor is configured to sense a speed of the engine-generator. A controller is configured to receive a signal indicating presence of the electrical load on the auxiliary power supply and a signal corresponding to speed of the engine-generator. When presence of the electrical load on the auxiliary power supply is detected, the controller starts the engine-generator, and after the engine-generator has reached a predetermined speed, switches the auxiliary power supply from the battery to the engine-generator.

    摘要: A vehicle includes an engine, a transmission, and an electrical system. The electrical system has an auxiliary starter motor connected to a crankshaft of the engine, a high-voltage motor generator unit (MGU) connected to the crankshaft, and a controller. Execution of instructions by a processor causes the controller to determine a set of powertrain conditions in response to a requested autostart of the engine, e.g., state of charge and/or power limits of a high-voltage energy storage system (HV-ESS), torque limits of the MGU, and/or a crank angle of the engine. The controller determines whether the requested autostart may not succeed relative to a time or noise standard using the set of powertrain conditions, and transmits an autostart command to the MGU when the requested autostart may succeed. The controller transmits the autostart command to the auxiliary starter motor when the requested autostart will not succeed.

    摘要: A powertrain system includes a torque machine rotatably coupled to an internal combustion engine via a pulley mechanism. The torque machine and the internal combustion engine are configured to transfer torque to a driveline and include a first sensor configured to monitor rotation of the engine and a second sensor configured to monitor rotation of the torque machine. The first sensor signally connects to a controller configured to control operation of the torque machine. A method for operating the powertrain system includes employing a signal output from the first sensor to monitor rotation of the torque machine to control operation thereof, said signal output from the first sensor adjusted for a pulley ratio of the pulley mechanism upon detecting a fault associated with the second sensor.
