Abstract: A power storage unit of an electric vehicle includes a first computer that controls a first traction motor, a second computer that controls a second traction motor, and a support member. The power storage unit is disposed behind a seat of the electric vehicle. In a state that the first computer is fixed to a first surface of the support member and the second computer is fixed to a second surface of the support member, the support member is disposed between the seat and a power storage device in a front-rear direction of the vehicle.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for hybrid electric internal combustion engine applications in which a motor-generator, a narrow switchable coupling and a torque transfer unit therebetween are arranged and positioned in the constrained environment at the front of an engine in applications such as commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles and stationary engine installations. The motor-generator is preferably positioned laterally offset from the switchable coupling, which is co-axially-arranged with the front end of the engine crankshaft. The switchable coupling is an integrated unit in which a crankshaft vibration damper, an engine accessory drive pulley and a disengageable clutch overlap such that the axial depth of the clutch-pulley-damper unit is nearly the same as a conventional belt drive pulley and engine damper. The front end motor-generator system includes an electrical energy store that receives electrical energy generated by the motor-generator when the coupling is engaged. When the coupling is disengaged, the motor-generator may drive the pulley portion of the clutch-pulley-damper to drive the engine accessories using energy returned from the energy store, independent of the engine crankshaft.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided related to a self-propelling work machine in the form of a tracked vehicle having an electric drive, with a generator drivable by an internal combustion engine, an auxiliary unit connected to the engine, and a braking apparatus for braking the work machine. The braking apparatus provides regenerative braking by the electric drive and comprises a feedback apparatus for feeding back electrical motor braking power of the electric motor to the generator to apply the motor braking power on the engine and on the auxiliary unit. A controller automatically increases or decreases the electrical load of the auxiliary unit based on the electrical motor braking power fed back to the engine and/or based on an engine speed.

Abstract: A moving assist apparatus for assisting a vehicle to move from current position to destination includes a mode planning unit for, for each section obtained by dividing traveling route, planning one traveling mode from first mode of not maintaining a charge storage amount of the secondary battery and second mode of maintaining the charge storage amount of the secondary battery, based on a traveling load associated with the section. If the charge storage amount of the battery is above a first threshold, the mode planning unit takes a section after which the charge storage amount of the battery that is predicted with assumption of traveling with the first mode is below a second threshold less than the first threshold by taking the section being traveled by the vehicle or the next section as a reference, as a first mode priority section in which the first mode is planned in priority.

Abstract: A vehicle charging apparatus includes: an electric generator 3 that is driven by an internal combustion engine 1 and outputs an adjustable alternating-current voltage; a rectifier 4 that converts the outputted alternating-current voltage to a direct-current voltage; an electric storage device 5 that is charged with the converted direct-current voltage; and a voltage sensor 6 that measures an output voltage of the rectifier 4. The vehicle charging apparatus is provided with a control device 7 that controls the electric generator 3 for a charging voltage to be a target charging voltage calculated from the output voltage in order to suppress a charging current to be lower than a charging current upper limit value when the electric storage device 5 is charged. It thus becomes possible to achieve efficiency higher than that of a charging apparatus in the related art while preventing deterioration or damage of the electric storage device.
