    摘要: An electric drive system for a motor vehicle includes a first electric machine having a first rotor, a differential having a differential input shaft and a first differential output shaft and a second differential output shaft. The two differential output shafts are arranged coaxially with respect to the first rotor. A first side shaft is coupled to the first differential output shaft for conjoint rotation. A second side shaft is coupled, or is couplable, to the second differential output shaft for conjoint rotation. A second electric machine has a second rotor arranged coaxially with respect to the first rotor. A first switching element is configured to couple the first rotor to the first side shaft for conjoint rotation. A second switching element is configured to couple the second rotor to the second side shaft for conjoint rotation. The first rotor is coupled, or couplable, to the differential input shaft for conjoint rotation.

    摘要: A vehicle includes first and second drive units, such as drive units that each include an electric motor and a gear train coupling the electric motor to one or more wheels. A first drive unit may be idled while the second drive unit continues to induce movement of the vehicle. Losses within the first drive unit while idled may be reduced by heating the first drive unit, such as with heat generated by the second drive unit. A cooling system is present and may be used to heat the first drive unit by directing fluid exiting the second drive unit into the first drive unit before entering the cooling system or bypassing the cooling system entirely. Oil circulation within the first drive unit may facilitate heating of the gear train by bypassing a heat exchanger receiving the oil and the fluid.

    摘要: A drive unit includes a first electric motor, a fluid coupling, a pump, a second electric motor, and a controller. The first electric motor is configured to drive a drive wheel. The fluid coupling is configured such that a torque outputted from the first electric motor is inputted thereto. The pump is configured to supply a working fluid to an interior of the fluid coupling. The second electric motor is configured to drive the pump. The controller controls the second electric motor based on at least one of an input/output rotational ratio of the fluid coupling, a temperature of the working fluid in the interior of the fluid coupling, or an amount of the working fluid in the interior of the fluid coupling.
