摘要： An electric drive unit and method of assembling the same is disclosed. The electric drive unit includes a rotor having a rotor shaft, and gear shaft, where the rotor shaft is inserted into the gear shaft. The gear shaft is supported by two bearings, while the rotor shaft supported directly at one end by a bearing and at the other by the gear shaft. A wave spring is also disclosed that provides an axial loading to the rotor shaft. Also disclosed is a balancing ring secured to an end of the rotor via a locknut. The balancing ring can be machined in order to balance the rotor. The rotor shaft can be connected to the gear shaft via a spline connection. The rotor shaft can bear against the gear shaft via a pilot journal and pilot bore defined on the rotor shaft and gear shaft respectively.

The iron amount detecting device is attached to a speed reducer, and detects an amount of iron in a lubricant in the speed reducer. The receiver receives data of the amount of iron detected by the iron amount detecting device. The maintenance information output apparatus has an outputting portion which outputs maintenance information of the speed reducer. The maintenance information output apparatus has a receiving portion which receives the data from the receiver. When the amount of iron is equal to or larger than a threshold value, the controlling portion causes the outputting portion to output the maintenance information.

The magnet and the probe may be placed facing a moving target connected to an actuating element, which is used to select the gear ratios of a gearbox in order to determine the position of the target in space and, from this, deduce the position. The position sensor also includes at least one ferromagnetic element positioned at the periphery of the sensitive end to trap metallic contaminants. A motor vehicle gearbox includes an actuating element that selects gear ratios, a moving target connected to the actuating element, and a position sensor.
