摘要: An engine control apparatus includes a control system including one or more memories and one or more processors communicably coupled to one another, and controlling ignition timing of a spark plug. The one or more memories hold first and second ignition timing maps that provide setting of the ignition timing for each engine operation point. The one or more processors determine the number of injection stages of an injector. When the number of injection stages of the injector is the first number of injection stages, the one or more processors control the ignition timing of the spark plug based on the first ignition timing map. When the number of injection stages of the injector is the second number of injection stages greater than the first number of injection stages, the one or more processors control the ignition timing of the spark plug based on the second ignition timing map.

摘要: A method for determining a combustion gas composition of a combustion gas for an internal combustion engine includes operating the engine, and establishing an operating point of the internal combustion engine during operation. The method also includes detecting a nitrogen oxide emission of the internal combustion engine at the operating point. The method further includes detecting an exhaust gas temperature of the internal combustion engine at the operating point, and detecting a combustion air ratio of the internal combustion engine at the operating point. The combustion gas composition of the combustion gas is determined based on the operating point, the detected nitrogen oxide emission, the detected exhaust gas temperature and the detected combustion air ratio.

摘要: An engine is configured to ignite an air-fuel mixture with an electric spark to ignite an air-fuel mixture. The engine includes: a cylinder head including a chamber partition wall having through holes and defining a main combustion chamber and a sub-combustion chamber; a fuel injector that injects fuel into the main combustion chamber; an air injector that injects air into the sub-combustion chamber; an ignition device causes an electric discharge between an ignition electrode and the chamber partition wall; and a control system that controls the fuel and air injectors, and the ignition device. At a compression stroke during a warm-up operation, the fuel is injected throughout a first period, and the air is injected throughout a second period at least partially overlapping the first period. At a power stroke during the warm-up operation, the electric discharge is caused after the fuel is injected.

摘要: A vehicle includes an engine, a transmission, and a controller. The engine is configured to generate power. The transmission is configured to transfer power from the engine to at least one drive wheel to propel the vehicle. The controller is programmed to, in response to a command to shift the transmission and a corresponding command to decrease a torque of the engine to less than a threshold corresponding to a spark retard limit during the shift, (i) increase the pressure of an oncoming clutch to engage the oncoming clutch, (ii) retard an engine spark at the spark retard limit to reduce the torque of the engine to the threshold during the engagement of the oncoming clutch, and (iii) shutdown at least one cylinder of the engine to further reduce the torque of the engine to less than the threshold during the engagement of the oncoming clutch.

摘要: An ignition device is used in an internal combustion engine that uses a flame-retardant fuel. The ignition device includes a spark plug, a discharge circuit, and a control unit. The spark plug is placed in a cylinder of the internal combustion engine. The discharge circuit induces a high voltage in the spark plug, to thereby discharge the spark plug. The control unit controls a timing at which the spark plug is discharged by the discharge circuit. The control unit causes the discharge circuit to discharge the spark plug a plurality of times while a piston performs a reciprocating operation once in the cylinder. As a result, even when a flame-retardant fuel is used for the internal combustion engine, the ignition rate of the fuel can be enhanced.

摘要: A generator includes an internal combustion engine including an engine block including a cylinder including a piston, a crankshaft configured to rotate about a crankshaft axis in response to movement by the piston, and a spark plug configured to periodically generate a spark to ignite fuel in the cylinder to control the movement of the piston. The generator further includes an alternator including a rotor and a stator, the rotor configured to rotate with the rotation of the crankshaft to generate alternating current electrical power, a controller configured to control a rate of fuel supply to the internal combustion engine, and a switch configured to selectively enable the flow of a first type of fuel into the cylinder and disable the flow of a second type of fuel, wherein the controller is configured to receive an indication of a fuel type based on a position of the switch.

摘要: An internal combustion engine with an open-loop or closed-loop control device (2), wherein at least one combustion chamber (3) of the internal combustion engine (1) is designed to burn a fuel-air mixture using at least one combustion parameters that can be influenced by the open-loop or closed-loop control device (2), wherein the open-loop or closed-loop control device (2) has an emission control loop that is configured to actuate the at least one actuator that influences the at least one combustion parameter as a substitute parameter for NOx emissions by means of a functional relationship in such way that at last one combustion parameter can be set for each target or actual power rating of the internal combustion engine (1), wherein the functional relationship takes account of an influence of a change of the exhaust backpressure (p3’) affecting at least one combustion chamber (3).
