Abstract: A method for operating a hybrid vehicle includes, depending on a presence of a control-side demand to engage a separating clutch (4), implementing an engagement process of the separating clutch (4) during driving under purely electric motor power and, depending on the presence of a control-side demand to implement an upshift in a transmission (5), implementing a gear ratio change from a current gear of the upshift into a target gear of the upshift. In response to the control-side demand to engage the separating clutch (4) and the control-side demand to implement the upshift, the method includes checking whether the upshift is necessary in order to prevent a vehicle-side rotational speed from reaching or exceeding a rotational speed limit value. When the upshift is necessary in order to prevent the vehicle-side rotational speed from reaching or exceeding the rotational speed limit value, the implementation of the upshift in the transmission is prioritized over the implementation of the engagement process of the separating clutch.

The controlling apparatus is configured to control the operation of the first and second electric machines by the steps of:
changing the speed of the first and second electric machines to reach a target speed of the input shaft;
determining that the speed of the input shaft is within a target range of the target speed;
setting one of the first and second electric machines in a first control mode, the first control mode being speed control to adjust for changes so that the target speed of the input shaft can be kept when reached, and setting the other one of the first and second electric machines in a second control mode being different to the first control mode, in response of determining that the speed of the input shaft is within the target range.-

Abstract: A motor vehicle has at least two drive motors, at least one drive motor being an electric machine; a high-voltage accumulator; and an automatic gearbox, having at least one fixed transmission ratio and at least one power-split transmission ratio for transmission regulation starting from the at least one fixed transmission ratio. The motor vehicle further includes an electronic control unit, which is designed such that, when a gear change command is present, the shifting element to be opened of the fixed transmission ratio to be disengaged is unloaded in a torque-controlled manner by at least two of the drive motors. For the shifting element to be opened, the torque load is calculated and observed. The torque load is observed with the objective of bringing about a load change by way of a zero crossing in order to produce a no-load state at the shifting element. For producing the no-load state of the shifting element to be opened, a first drive motor and a second drive motor are controlled in a power split manner such that they, in terms of rotational speeds, maintain the transmission of the previously engaged fixed transmission ratio, and, in terms of torque, put the shifting element to be opened in an at least nearly no-load state, and a load change is brought about at the shifting element to be opened by a differential rotational speed, opposite the calculated torque load at the shifting element to be opened, being specified at the shifting element.

Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine, a transmission, and a controller. The transmission is configured to transfer power from the engine to at least one drive wheel to propel the vehicle. The controller programmed to, in response to a command to shift the transmission, reduce a torque of the engine from a desired engine torque to a reduced value based on a flare at an input to the transmission during the shift. The controller is further programmed to, in response to the reduced value exceeding a threshold, retard an engine spark and maintain operation of all cylinders of the engine to reduce the torque of the engine during the shift. The controller is further programmed to, in response to the reduced value being less than the threshold, retard the engine spark and shutdown at least one cylinder of the engine to reduce the torque of the engine during the shift.
