Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for wave power generation. In one aspect, a wave power generator device includes a stator assembly and a rotor assembly encased within a tube frame. The stator assembly includes an array of inductor coils in a fixed position within a cavity of the tube frame and a plurality of bearings coupled to the tube frame. The rotor assembly includes a turbine rotor having a central hub and peripheral blades coupled to a high inertia annular flywheel that is moveably engaged with the bearings of the stator assembly, and an array of magnets arranged to be evenly spaced and of alternating axial polarity from one another extending from the annular flywheel into the cavity between the array of inductor coils, such that electric currents are produced based on magnetic field interaction of the magnets with the inductor coils during the rotation of the annular flywheel.

Abstract: Provided is a two-shaft gas turbine power generation equipment that includes: an induction motor which receives/transmits power from/to a power system; and a speed reducer that makes a rotational speed of a motor rotor of the induction motor lower than a rotational speed of a compressor rotor of a two-shaft gas turbine. The speed reducer includes: a compressor-side shaft; a motor-side shaft; a first compressor-side helical gear and a second compressor-side helical gear which are mounted on the compressor-side shaft; and a first motor-side helical gear and a second motor-side helical gear which are mounted on the motor-side shaft. The first compressor-side helical gear meshes with the first motor-side helical gear, and the second compressor-side helical gear meshes with the second motor-side helical gear.

Abstract: A system includes a first controller configured to control a gas turbine to operate at a constant speed set point and a variable torque output to drive a generator. A DC to DC converter may operate as a load on a power source bus supplied by the generator. A second controller may limit a rate of change of the DC output power of the DC to DC converter during intermittent supply of a transient step change load subsequent to receipt of a transient load control signal. The transient load control signal is anticipatory of application of the transient step change load to the load bus. The rate of change is limited by the second controller to maintain the variable torque of the gas turbine below a predetermined threshold as a load ramp rate of the DC to DC converter changes on the power source bus.

The power generation system may include a core turbine positioned about a core rotor shaft, a power turbine positioned about a power rotor shaft, a synchronous generator including a generator rotor shaft coupled to the power rotor shaft for rotation therewith, and an electronic controller in operable communication with the synchronous generator. The synchronous generator may be configured to generate reactive power for or absorb reactive power from an electric power grid when the power generation system operates in a reactive power mode. The electronic controller may be operable to cause the core rotor shaft to rotate when the power generation system operates in the reactive power mode.

Abstract: A non-transitory, computer readable medium stores instructions executable by a processor of an electronic device. The instructions include instructions to determine that a transient event is occurring in an electrical grid coupled to an EGR gas turbine system, wherein the transient event is an under-frequency or an under-voltage event. The instructions also include instructions to increase a flow rate of fuel to a combustor of the EGR gas turbine system in response to the transient event when the EGR gas turbine system is operating in a non-stoichiometric combustion mode. The instructions further include instructions to increase a flow rate of oxidant to the combustor before increasing the flow rate of fuel to the combustor, or to decrease a local consumption of the electrical power to increase a portion of the electrical power that is exported to the attached electrical grid, or both, in response to the transient event when the EGR gas turbine system is operating in a stoichiometric combustion mode.

Abstract: A homogeneous charge compression ignition free-piston linear generator is disclosed. The linear generator includes a housing having cylinders at opposite ends. A double-ended piston assembly is to move linearly in the housing to convert kinetic energy of the piston assembly into electrical energy, and to enable conversion of electrical energy into kinetic energy of the piston assembly. Sensors measure one or more states of the cylinders and/or piston assembly, and a controller controls the linear generator based on the sensor data.

Abstract: An engine generator includes a generator body connected to an engine, a converter including rectifiers that convert an output from the generator body to DC current, an inverter that converts an output from the converter to AC current, an input voltage detector that detects an input voltage from the generator body to the converter, and an AC current detector that detects an AC current output from the inverter. An abnormality in the engine generator is determined if a state that a current detected by the AC current detector is not higher than a first threshold value and a duty ratio of a voltage detected by the input voltage detector is not higher than the second threshold value continues for a first predetermined time; or if the current detected by the AC current detector is not higher than a third threshold value and the duty ratio change rate is not higher than a fourth threshold value.
