摘要: A method of controlling an idle speed for an engine of a vehicle includes the steps of sensing a vehicle speed. At least one of a parking brake position and a clutch position is also sensed. When it is determined that the vehicle speed is below a maximum vehicle speed, and either the parking brake is released or the clutch is depressed, the engine idle speed is increased from a base idle speed to a launch idle speed.

As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, one or more operating parameters of the vehicle are obtained. Such parameters may be obtained during one or more qualifying periods of time, such as those periods in which an operating parameter or parameters such as speed and/or acceleration are within a range of values. A value that provides an estimate of the vehicle frontal area is then generated based on the one or more operating parameters.

摘要: This control device is configured to, based on a premise that an operating condition of a plant is a specific operating condition that is defined in advance, search for a virtual current value of a controlled variable for ensuring that a specific state quantity does not conflict with a constraint in the future using a prediction model, set the virtual current value which was found by the search to a target value of the controlled variable, and determine a manipulated variable of the plant so that an actual current value of the controlled variable approaches the target value. Due to this configuration, even if the operating condition of the plant suddenly changes to the specific operating condition, the controlled variable of the plant can be adjusted in advance so that the specific state quantity in the specific operating condition does not conflict with the constraint.

摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for detecting a clogging of a fuel injector of an internal combustion engine. Each fuel injector of the plurality of fuel injectors may be tested for a clogging. A test injector is switch off. A requested value of a fuel quantity to be injected by the other fuel injectors of the plurality of fuel injectors is adjusted to operate the internal combustion engine in an idle mode. A difference is calculated between the requested value of the fuel quantity and a reference value of the fuel quantity to be injected by all the fuel injectors of the plurality of fuel injectors to operate the internal combustion engine in idle mode. The calculated difference for each test injector is used to identify if the test injector is clogged.

摘要: An engine includes a low-pressure delivery pipe that stores fuel to be injected from port injection valves, a feed pump that supplies the fuel to the low-pressure delivery pipe, a high-pressure delivery pipe that stores the fuel to be injected from in-cylinder injection valves, a high-pressure pump driven in response to rotation of the engine, and a fuel pressure sensor that detects a pressure of the fuel stored in the low-pressure delivery pipe. An engine ECU controls the feed pump based on a detection value from a fuel pressure sensor, and when the engine ECU executes an abnormality diagnosis of the fuel pressure sensor, the engine ECU increases a rotational speed of the engine to be higher than a rotational speed when the engine ECU does not execute an abnormality diagnosis of the fuel pressure sensor. This improves the accuracy of an abnormality determination of the fuel pressure sensor.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing whether active engine mounts configured to isolate engine vibration from a cabin and chassis of a vehicle are functioning as desired. In one example, engine vibrations are actively induced, and the active engine mounts are alternately controlled to a first, dampening mode, and to a second, stiffening mode for predetermined time periods, where resultant chassis vibrations are monitored during the predetermined time periods. By monitoring chassis vibrations as a function of induced engine vibrations, and further responsive to the active engine mounts being controlled to the first and second modes, it may be indicated as to whether the active engine mounts are functioning as desired.

摘要: During idle operation of an engine, on satisfaction of a predetermined condition including a condition that a vehicle speed is not higher than a reference value, a hybrid vehicle controls the engine with adjusting a throttle position such that a rotation speed of the engine becomes equal to target idle rotation speed or is in a predetermined rotation speed range including the target idle rotation speed. On non-satisfaction of predetermined condition, the hybrid vehicle controls the engine with setting the throttle position to a fixed value, The reference value is set to provide larger value when the rotation speed of the engine becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined rotation speed that is lower than the target idle rotation speed and is higher than a resonance rotation speed of the vehicle, compared with a value when the rotation speed of the engine is higher than the predetermined rotation speed.
