摘要: A control system for an internal combustion engine includes a temperature sensor and an engine controller. The sensor measures the temperature of exhaust gas passing through an exhaust manifold of the engine during each cycle. The controller selectively operates the engine in a first state and a second state. In the first, normal state, a quantity of fuel based on an open loop fuel mass command value is injected into the engine each cycle. In the second state, the controller determines a temperature of the exhaust gas during a normal cycle, injects the quantity and additional fuel into the engine during a second cycle, determines the temperature of the exhaust gas during the second cycle, compares the temperatures, and adjusts the command value for fuel to be injected each cycle when operating the engine in the first state.

摘要: A method for determining a signal offset between a crankshaft angle signal and a combustion chamber pressure signal in an internal combustion engine, in which an instantaneously measured combustion chamber pressure profile is compared to a calculated, modeled combustion chamber pressure profile. In a method in which the correction values of the signal offset may be ascertained in any operating state of the internal combustion engine, the instantaneously measured combustion chamber pressure profile is shifted with respect to the calculated, modeled combustion chamber pressure profile along a crankshaft angle for generating an artificial signal offset, and a reconstruction quality is determined from this shifted combustion chamber pressure profile in that, from the artificial signal offset along the crankshaft angle of the shifted instantaneously measured combustion chamber pressure profile, a reconstruction error is ascertained as a measure of the effective signal offset between the crankshaft angle signal and the combustion chamber pressure signal.

摘要: In a method for recognizing knocking of an internal combustion engine, solid-borne sound signals are measured and solid-borne sound features are recovered from the measured sound signals. A peak pressure for a combustion event of the internal combustion engine is estimated from the solid-borne sound features, and the estimated peak pressure is compared with a knock recognition threshold, knocking of the internal combustion engine being recognized when the knock recognition threshold is exceeded by the estimated peak pressure.
