摘要: An oxidizing reactor apparatus having a heat exchange reactor having an input port, an entry channel in fluid communication with the input port, an exit channel in fluid communication with the entry channel via a plurality of pores and an output port in fluid communication with the exit channel, wherein the exit channel is in thermal communication with the entry channel, an engine in fluid communication with the heat exchange reactor and a heater engaged with the heat exchange reactor to initiate and maintain the oxidation of fuel within the heat exchange reactor. The disclosed heat exchange reactor may be configured to receive engine exhaust from the engine and oxidize fuel within the engine exhaust prior to expelling the engine exhaust. The heat exchange reactor may be further configured to utilize heat released by the oxidation of un-combusted fuel to increase the temperature of the engine exhaust leaving the engine.

摘要: A controller is configured to control a vehicle that includes an internal combustion engine and an automatic transmission. The controller is configured to execute a shifting process that switches a gear ratio of the automatic transmission and a lean operation process that operates the internal combustion engine with an air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture in a cylinder leaner than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. The controller is further configured to, when executing the shifting process during execution of the lean operation process, set an air-fuel ratio in a case in which the shifting process is being executed to a value closer to the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio than an air-fuel ratio in a case in which the shifting process is not being executed.

摘要: A particulate matter detection apparatus is provided with an element portion onto which PM contained in exhaust gas of an engine adheres thereto. A heater which heats the element portion, a quantity detecting portion which detects a quantity of the PM based on electrical properties of the element portion and a temperature detecting portion which detects a temperature of the element portion. The apparatus is further provided with a first and second temperature controller. The first temperature controller heats the element portion using a heater in a first period, which excludes a period in which PM adheres to the element portion based on a detected temperature of the element portion. The element portion is heated in a first temperature range to combust soluble organic fractions contained in the PM and resist melting of ash components contained in the PM. The first period excludes a period in which PM adheres to the element portion. The second temperature controller heats the element portion in the second temperature range, which is higher than the first temperature range using the heater, such that ash is combusted, based on a detected temperature of the element portion.

The method comprises the steps of adjusting or mapping the programmable electronic control unit (12) of the pumping system (10), carried out by setting a set of predefined operating parameters of each pump in the programmable electronic control unit (12) of the pumping system (10), and of controlling the operation of the pumping system (10), wherein such control is an open-loop control and wherein the control action is independent from the values of the output parameters of the pumping system (10).

摘要: A method of forcibly regenerating a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) includes a first operation of starting an engine, a second operation of determining whether a coolant temperature in the on-state of the engine is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature, a third operation of determining whether an idle state of the engine is maintained for a predetermined time or longer when the coolant temperature is equal to or lower than the predetermined temperature, and a fourth operation of switching a fuel injection to an air-fuel (A/F) lean injection and forcibly regenerating the GPF by performing the A/F lean injection when the idle state of the engine is maintained for the predetermined time or longer.

摘要: A PM sensor is arranged downstream of a one-side blocked filter that collects a particulate matter in exhaust gas of an engine, and first and second sensor abnormality diagnoses are executed based on output of the PM sensor. In the first sensor abnormality diagnosis, a filter-outflow PM amount (an amount of the PM flowing out from the one-side blocked filter) is estimated based on a working condition of the engine and a PM collection rate of the one-side blocked filter, and an occurrence of output abnormality of the PM sensor is determined by comparing a sensor-detection PM amount (an amount of the PM detected based on the output of the PM sensor) with the filter-outflow PM amount. In the second sensor abnormality diagnosis, an engine discharging PM amount (an amount of the PM discharged from the engine) is estimated based on a working condition of the engine, and an occurrence of output abnormality of the PM sensor is determined by comparing an increasing rate of the output of the PM sensor with an increasing rate of the engine discharging PM amount.
