Abstract: A supplemental fuel system includes a fuel mixer. The fuel mixer includes a nozzle and a stem. The nozzle is configured to be positioned within a conduit of an air supply system for a compression-ignition engine. The nozzle has a body defining a first inlet positioned at a first nozzle end thereof, an outlet positioned at a second nozzle end thereof, a second inlet positioned between the first nozzle end and the second nozzle end, and a nozzle passage extending from the first nozzle end to the second nozzle end that is configured to receive air flowing through the conduit. The stem has a first stem end interfacing with the second inlet. The stem is configured to extend through a wall of the conduit such that a second stem end is positioned outside of the conduit.

Abstract: A system, method and circuit restricts the amount of a first fuel being provided to a duel-fuel engine, for example a diesel-natural gas engine; wherein a secondary circuit is provided, in parallel, to the circuit formed between the engine control unit, first fuel injector, and ground comprising a dummy load, and a normally closed switch inserted in the first fuel injection circuit; such that when the normally open switch is in a closed state the dummy load provides a resistance to the second sub-circuit, such that a total resistance in the second sub-circuit is equal to a total resistance in the first sub-circuit when the normally closed switch is in a closed state.

Abstract: Methods and systems for supply of fuel for a turbine-driven fracturing pump system used in hydraulic fracturing may be configured to identify when the supply pressure of primary fuel to a plurality of gas turbine engines of a plurality of hydraulic fracturing units falls below a set point, identify a gas turbine engine of the fleet of hydraulic fracturing units operating on primary fuel with highest amount of secondary fuel available, and to selectively transfer the gas turbine engine operating on primary fuel with the highest amount of secondary fuel from primary fuel operation to secondary fuel operation. Some methods and systems may be configured to transfer all gas turbine engines to secondary fuel operation and individually and/or sequentially restore operation to primary fuel operation and/or to manage primary fuel operation and/or secondary fuel operation for portions of the plurality of gas turbine engines.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatic calibration of large industrial engines in applications where the quality of the fuel supply is unknown and/or variable over time, particularly engines that drive compressors on a natural gas well site. A combination of throttles and an oxygen sensor including a mass-flow-air throttle and a mass-flow-gas throttle to determine the mass flow of air and mass flow of gas. As a response to exhaust gas oxygen level readings, the mass flow measurements are used to determine real time air-fuel ratios. An algorithm uses the air-fuel ratios as input data, wherein a microcontroller adjusts the throttles to meet engine performance demands. Additionally, using the air-fuel ratio data and suggested engine OEM calibration specifications as block multiplier inputs, particular fuel properties, such as British Thermal Unit (BTU) content, can be accurately interpolated, thereby enabling automatic calibration of the engine.

Abstract: An engine including a main fuel injection valve, a pilot fuel injection valve, a liquid fuel supply rail pipe, and a pilot fuel supply rail pipe. The main fuel injection valve supplies liquid fuel from the liquid fuel supply rail pipe to a combustion chamber during combustion in a diffusion combustion system. The pilot fuel injection valve supplies pilot fuel from the pilot fuel supply rail pipe to the combustion chamber in order to ignite gaseous fuel during combustion in a premixed combustion system. The liquid fuel supply rail pipe is disposed at one side of an imaginary vertical plane including an axis of a crank shaft. The pilot fuel supply rail pipe is disposed at the side of the imaginary vertical plane at which the liquid fuel supply rail pipe is disposed.

Abstract: An engine device includes a main throttle valve disposed at a portion where an outlet of a supercharger and an inlet of an intercooler are coupled to each other, an exhaust bypass flow path configured to couple an outlet of an exhaust manifold to an exhaust outlet of the supercharger, an exhaust bypass valve disposed in the exhaust bypass flow path, an air supply bypass flow path configured to bypass a compressor of the supercharger, and an air supply bypass valve disposed in the air supply bypass flow path. Within a low load range of a load on the engine device, when the load is lower than a predetermined load, feedback control is performed on the main throttle valve, and when the load is higher than the predetermined load, map control based on a data table is performed on the main throttle valve.

Abstract: A secondary fuel injection system determines (precisely) a maximum amount of secondary fuel that can be injected into a cylinder during a cycle based upon the rotational speed (RPM) of the engine. A primary fuel injection pulse width of the prior cycle and is used to determine how much heat energy was requested by an engine control module based upon the duration of the injection pulse. Secondary fuel is injected into the intake port of the cylinder after the exhaust valve closes in an amount that is calculated based upon the maximum that can be injected during the allowed calculated time of crankshaft rotation and the amount of heat energy requested in the prior cycle and to include the amount of primary fuel that is then injected into the cylinder is being reduced based upon the amount of heat energy provided by the secondary fuel that was previously injected.

Abstract: A method for controlling an internal combustion engine operating on at least partly gaseous fuel is disclosed. The method may include providing a desired burn rate profile corresponding to a desired operation of the internal combustion engine. The method may further include selecting first operating parameters such that an operation of the internal combustion engine with a first gas composition produces a first burn rate profile that corresponds to the desired burn rate profile. The method may also include operating the internal combustion engine with the first operating parameters using a second gas composition. The method may include determining that the second burn rate profile differs from the desired burn rate profile. In addition, the method may include adjusting an operating parameter from among the first operating parameters of the internal combustion engine to approach the desired burn rate profile.

Abstract: The invented system adds some petrol fuel to the vehicle engine which runs with natural gas (CNG or LPG). It causes a simultaneous combustion of petrol and natural gas (CNG or LPG). This action decreases depreciation of engine, increases power of the engine and reduces fuel consumption in natural gas vehicles. The above-mentioned system consists of an innovative petrol holder storage, an electronically circuit, a relay, a lever micro switch and a petrol fuel injector. Whenever the accelerator pedal is pressed more than a certain amount, the system will be activated and command to inject petrol collected in the storage into the air manifold.
