摘要: The disclosure relates to a method for determining the icing condition of a component of the exhaust-gas system of a motor vehicle that is not arranged directly in the exhaust-gas mass flow and/or of the feed line of the component. The method includes: determining a water quantity actually present in the component and in the feed line thereof and the state of aggregation of the water quantity; determining an energy quantity required for deicing and for volatilizing the water quantity; and determining an energy quantity supplied for deicing and for volatilizing the water quantity by radiated heat from components arranged directly in the exhaust-gas mass flow of the exhaust-gas system of the motor vehicle to the surroundings. The method also includes determining the icing condition of the component by comparing the energy quantity supplied for deicing and for volatilization with the energy quantity required for deicing and for volatilization.

摘要: A marine muffler capable of handling both marine engine exhaust gas and marine engine cooling water includes a double wall baffle partitioning the muffler interior so as to function as a cooling water conduit. The cooling water conduit includes an inlet disposed external to the main muffler housing and an outlet configured and disposed so as to discharge the engine cooling water into the exhaust duct connected to the muffler outlet. The muffler is thus able to convey the engine cooling water through the muffler housing within a dedicated conduit while maintaining the cooling water separate from the exhaust gas. A muffler that is adapted to handle both the exhaust and cooling water flowing from a marine engine allows for the elimination of engine cooling water piping.

摘要: An exhaust system for a marine exhaust system includes two identical liquid-cooled exhaust manifolds. Each exhaust manifold has an outlet portion adapted to receive and retain a catalytic converter. Liquid cooled first and second risers are secured to the first and second exhaust manifolds. Bypass hoses enable fluid to pass from each exhaust manifold to its coupled riser. At the outlet of each riser, the cooling fluid and exhaust gas mix in a Y-pipe to create a combined flow. An exhaust outlet conduit downstream of the Y-pipe receives the combined flow and discharges the combined flow.

摘要: An exhaust system is for a marine propulsion device having an internal combustion engine. A catalyst housing has a housing inlet end that receives an exhaust gas flow from the internal combustion engine into the catalyst housing and an opposite, housing outlet end that discharges the exhaust flow out of the catalyst housing. A catalyst is disposed in the catalyst housing. The catalyst has a catalyst inlet end that receives the exhaust gas flow and an opposite, catalyst outlet end that discharges the exhaust gas flow. A catalyst mantel is on an outer periphery of the catalyst. The catalyst mantel has a mantel inlet end and an opposite, mantel outlet end. A radial flange is on at least one of the mantel outlet end and mantel inlet end. A connector mates with an inner diameter of the catalyst housing. The radially extending flange of the catalyst mantel is axially sandwiched between the connector and a radially inner shoulder of the catalyst housing.

摘要: An exhaust gas control system includes an upstream purification device disposed in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine, a downstream purification device disposed in a portion of the exhaust passage downstream from the upstream purification device, a fuel addition valve disposed in a portion of the exhaust passage upstream from the upstream purification device, and a urea addition valve disposed in a portion of the exhaust passage between the upstream purification device and the downstream purification device, and a cooling device. The cooling device is configured such that refrigerant cools the fuel addition valve first and then cools the urea addition valve subsequent to the fuel addition valve.

摘要: An engine cooling system in a vehicle comprises a first coolant circuit and a second coolant circuit connecting an engine to a radiator. A thermostat is arranged in the first coolant circuit and is arranged to be closed during engine warm-up, to prevent flow through the first coolant circuit. The cooling system further comprises a bypass circuit connecting the thermostat to the second coolant circuit and at least one parallel circuit. Each parallel circuit is connected to the second coolant circuit upstream of the bypass circuit, wherein a partial coolant flow is directed from the bypass circuit and upstream through the second coolant circuit into the at least one parallel circuit during engine warm-up. The disclosure further relates to a method for controlling such an engine cooling system.
