摘要: A heavy duty truck includes a diesel engine that generates an exhaust gas flow and an exhaust after-treatment system for treatment of the exhaust gas flow. The exhaust after-treatment system includes at least one temperature sensor at an underbody SCR system within the exhaust after-treatment system and a DEF injector upstream of a close-coupled SCR system within the exhaust after-treatment system. The DEF injector is operated to inject DEF into the exhaust gas flow at a rate that varies as a function of a temperature measured by the temperature sensor.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for automatically detecting clogging of a sensor pipe extending between a pressure sensor and an exhaust manifold of an internal combustion engine, wherein the pressure sensor enables to record a signal representative of the relative pressure over time. The method includes at least one of the following steps:
a) determining, while the engine runs in a steady operation state, an average amplitude of oscillations of the signal over a first period of time, the sensor pipe being considered clogged when said average amplitude is lower than a first threshold;
b) monitoring, from the time the engine has been turned off, the signal over a second period of time, the sensor pipe being considered clogged when the integral of the signal is greater than a second threshold.-

摘要: An exhaust treatment system for a work vehicle includes a mixing conduit extending between upstream and downstream ends along a bulk flow direction, where the upstream end receives engine exhaust. The system further includes an injector nozzle configured to inject exhaust reductant into the mixing conduit at a location between the upstream and downstream ends. Additionally, the system includes a branch conduit, where an inlet end of the branch conduit is fluidly coupled to the mixing conduit upstream of a location at which an outlet end of the branch conduit is fluidly coupled to the mixing conduit. A portion of the exhaust flowing through the mixing conduit may be directed through the branch conduit, where the outlet end of the branch conduit is configured to direct the portion of the exhaust back into the mixing conduit such that a spiraling flow of the exhaust is generated within the mixing conduit.

摘要: An exhaust discharge system is disclosed. The exhaust discharge system comprises an exhaust stack including a first conduit and a second conduit. The first conduit defines a first flow passageway and arranged around a first longitudinal axis. The first conduit including a skirt portion and a body portion disposed downstream of the skirt portion, and the skirt portion is oriented to slope outward from the body portion. The second conduit is disposed downstream of the first conduit. The second conduit defines a second flow passageway and is arranged around a second longitudinal axis, the second conduit includes a sidewall and an exit port, the exit port having an exit-port cross-section, wherein the exit-port cross-section is oblong in shape. The second longitudinal axis is disposed at an intersection angle to the first longitudinal axis, the intersection angle in a range of 125° to 150°. The exhaust stack is configured to convey treated exhaust from the skirt portion to the exit port.

The anti-theft device a motor vehicle catalytic converter anti-theft device comprises a first shell component configured to surround, at least in part, a first portion of a motor vehicle catalytic converter. A second shell component is configured to surround, at least in part, a second portion of the motor vehicle catalytic converter. The first shell component and the second shell component are configured to be attachable to each other in coaxial relation about the first portion of the catalytic converter and the second portion of the catalytic converter, respectively. A distal end of at least the first shell component comprises a structure configured to prevent axial movement of the first shell component relative to the catalytic converter. At least the first shell component further may be attachable to a fixed component of the motor vehicle.

摘要: An engine is provided with an engine body, a crankshaft, a cooling fan, an exhaust manifold, a supercharger, an ATD that purifies exhaust gas, and a second exhaust pipe. When the height direction of the engine is defined as a first direction, the crankshaft extends in a second direction vertical to the first direction. The cooling fan is disposed on one side of the engine body in the second direction. The supercharger is driven by the exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold. The second exhaust pipe connects the supercharger and the ATD. The ATD is disposed in an attitude in which the longitudinal direction thereof is parallel to the second direction. The second exhaust pipe is connected to the cooling fan side of the ATD in the second direction. The second exhaust pipe is disposed so as to pass laterally with respect to the exhaust manifold and below the supercharger.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for restricting work produced by combustion in a combustion chamber, wherein an aftertreatment system is arranged for reduction of at least one substance resulting from the combustion, wherein the work produced by the combustion is restricted when there is a malfunction regarding reduction of the at least one substance. The method includes: performing a first evaluation regarding the reduction of the at least one substance, when the first evaluation indicates a malfunction, performing a second evaluation regarding the reduction of the at least one substance, the second evaluation being different from the first evaluation, and restricting work produced by the combustion only when a malfunction regarding reduction of the at least one substance is indicated also by the second evaluation.

摘要: A heater control module of the present disclosure controls exhaust temperature in an exhaust after treatment system. The heater control module includes a heating mode determination module and a heater operating module. The heating mode determination module is configured to select a desired heating mode from a plurality of heating modes based on an engine load and a status of a component of the exhaust aftertreatment system. The heater operating module is configured to operate an electric heater based on the desired heating mode. The plurality of modes includes at least a passive regeneration heating mode and an active regeneration heating mode. The electric heater is operated in the passive regeneration heating mode to heat an exhaust gas to a predetermined temperature to increase NO2 generation when an engine load is less than or equal to approximately 25%.
