Abstract:
A bollard sleeve with a removable or replaceable cover is described. In one example, the bollard sleeve includes a cover portion and a sleeve portion coupled to the cover portion. The cover portion can have a cover removably coupled to a skirt, and the sleeve portion can have a tab. When the tab is in a first position, the tab can prevent the cover from being removed. When the tab is in a second position, the tab can form an opening that allows the cover to be removed. The tab can be bent from the first position to the second position, or the tab can be removed from the sleeve portion.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a bollard base including a top plate, a plurality of spaced-apart anchors each integrally connected to and extending downwardly from the top plate, a plurality of adjustable leg assemblies at least partially connected to the top plate, and a tubular baffle connected to and extending downwardly from the bottom of the top plate, wherein the plurality of adjustable leg assemblies include a plurality of spaced-apart tubular legs integrally connected to and extending downwardly from the top plate, and a plurality of adjustable feet respectively partially insertable into the tubular legs. Various embodiments of the present disclosure also provide a bollard base including a top plate and a tubular baffle connected to and extending downwardly the top plate.
Abstract:
A pole arrangement comprising:—a pole (2) with a tubular external wall (4) of sheet metal;—a foundation (5) with a cavity (7) for receiving a lower section (8) of the external wall (4) of the pole;—a wedge element (6) for securing the pole in the cavity by wedging; and—a reinforcement element (23) mounted to a part of the section (8) of the external wall (4) of the pole received in the cavity, in order to counteract buckling of this part. The wedge element bears against the external wall of the pole through supporting projections, wherein there are free spaces be—tween the supporting projections in order to allow parts of the external wall of the pole to be pressed into some of these spaces when the external is buckled in connection with a collision. The reinforcement element (23) is arranged at an axial distance from an upper opening (9) of the cavity in order to allow, in connection with a collision against the pole, buckling of the part of the external wall of the pole located between the reinforcement element and the opening of the cavity.
Abstract:
A delineator system includes an anchor having an end portion and a post extending along a longitudinal direction and having an end portion overlapping with the end portion of the anchor. The overlapping end portions are coupled together with an engagement member. A protective collar is moveable relative to the post and the anchor along the longitudinal direction from a non-installed position to an installed position. The protective collar is disposed over and covers the overlapping end portions and the engagement member when in the installed position. Methods of manufacturing and installing a post, and other delineator systems and delineator posts are also provided.
Abstract:
A ground screw anchor foundation for a roadside sign comprises at least one elongated soil screw defining a longitudinal axis. The soil screw includes a barrel section having an upper end and a lower end and a substantially circular cross-section of a first diameter. A point section is connected to the lower end, the point section tapering from a second diameter at a position along the longitudinal axis proximate to the barrel section to a third diameter at a position along the longitudinal axis distal to the barrel section. A helical thread is disposed on an outer surface of at least a portion of the point section. A first component of a breakaway system is mounted on the upper end of the barrel section of the soil screw. The first component is adapted for releasable connection in a breakaway manner to a second component on a roadside sign.
Abstract:
A post sleeve installation assembly includes: an elastomeric sleeve core shaped to form a post sleeve when positioned in uncured concrete, a removable stiffener inside the core, an aperture extending lengthwise in the stiffener, a locking element positioned within the core, and an assembly plate coupled to the stiffener. The assembly plate clamps to a prefabricated sleeve element, with the core and stiffener positioned within a post cavity of the sleeve element. an installation stake is positioned in the aperture and prevented from sliding upwards by the locking element. A release point on the assembly plate permits an operator to release the locking element for removal of the stake. To install a post sleeve, the operator positions the installation assembly, clamped to a prefabricated sleeve element, in a post hole with the stake resting on the bottom, then fills the hole with concrete, manipulating the stake to position the assembly.
Abstract:
A method of forming a post sleeve within a post hole in the ground to include a post receiving cavity to insertably receive and support a post is provided. The method includes positioning a post sleeve core within the post hole with the aid of an elongate installation member and depositing uncured material into the post hole to at least partially surround the post sleeve core while the post sleeve core is attached to the elongate installation member. The method further includes allowing the uncured material to harden around the post sleeve core to form at least a portion of the post-receiving cavity of the post sleeve and removing the post sleeve core from the hardened material to expose the post receiving cavity to receive and support the post. Other related methods of forming post sleeves are also provided.
Abstract:
An impact absorbing sign post with quick change-out capability and method is provided. The impact absorbing sign post includes an upper sign post for carrying a sign, an intermediate cylindrical hollow bollard post carrying the upper sign post and a lower hollow bollard post mounted immovably in the ground supporting the intermediate cylindrical hollow bollard post. A easily removable pivot base flexible joint member with a dome portion is mounted between the intermediate cylindrical hollow bollard post and the lower hollow bollard post. A quick change-out spring kit is housed substantially with the lower hollow bollard post in includes a coil spring that is compressed by a tension means such as a cable or chain. When the sign post is impacted by a vehicle and the spring kit is damaged a replacement quick change-out spring kit may be easily installed after removal of the original spring kit without the necessity of removing the lower hollow bollard post from the ground.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for supporting a post. In accordance with some embodiments, a subterranean support structure has a tube extension adapted for placement within a hole to receivingly nest a proximal end of a vertically extending post that extends above the hole. The tube extension has opposing first and second ends, the first end adapted for placement proximate a top elevation of the hole and the second end adapted for placement proximate a bottom elevation of the hole. A support flange circumferentially extends from the tube extension a selected distance from the second end of the tube extension. The support flange supports a column of anchoring material placed in the hole between the tube extension and a sidewall of the hole.
