摘要: A composition includes a sugar source and inositol. The sugar source is one more sugars select from the group consisting of glucose, sucrose, sucrolose, tagatose, galactose, high fructose corn syrup, fructose, isoglucose, and rhamnose. The composition of sugar and inositol has an unique properties that prevents or limits the signaling of TNF-α and associated pro-inflammatory cytokines when metabolized by an individual consuming the composition. Accordingly, the composition can be advantageously used to control blood glucose levels, treat diabetes and related conditions as well as treat diseases based on an inflammatory response.

摘要: A process to hydrolyze cellulose into cellobiose comprising the following steps:
providing a reaction vessel;
providing a Cellulomonas uda (ATCC 491) inoculum;
exposing said Cellulomonas uda (ATCC 491) bacterium to a source of cellulose having a kappa number of less than 10 in an aqueous medium of pH of about 8 at a temperature ranging from 30° C. to 35° C. for a period of time ranging from 14 to 42 days;
exposing the cellobiose to a bacterium or fungi or yeast, or combination which converts cellobiose to glucose or ethanol.-

摘要: Structures and methods of making biodegradable trehalose co-polymers are disclosed. Specifically, biodegradable trehalose co-polymers consist of the general structure R5[R1R2C—CR3R4]n-[DG]m-R6, wherein R1-R4 are independently selected from hydrogen or a side chain comprising at least one carbon atom, and wherein at least one of R1-R4 is a side chain comprising -L-trehalose, wherein L is a linker molecule that links trehalose to the monomer through at least one of the trehalose hydroxyl groups (—OH), wherein DG is a biodegradable group, and wherein R5 and R6 are end groups.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a sophorolipid composition that can be used for inducing protein expression in a fermentation host. The sophorolipid composition described herein can be prepared from a natural sophorolipid mixture. Acid treatment of the natural sophorolipid mixture results in a mixture of monoacetylated, deacetylated, and/or diacetylated sophorolipids. The chemically modified sophorolipid composition, or isolated components of the chemically modified sophorolipid composition, can be used as inducers for protein production in filamentous fungi.
