    摘要: The present invention provides a plasma display device that has light emission properties with short persistence where green light has a persistence time of 3.5 msec or less, that is excellent in luminance, luminance degradation resistance, and color tone, and that is suitable for, for example, a stereoscopic image display device. The present invention provides a plasma display device including a plasma display panel in which a pair of substrates at least whose front side is transparent are disposed to oppose each other so as to form a discharge space between the substrates, barrier ribs for dividing the discharge space into a plurality of discharge spaces are disposed on at least one substrate, electrode groups are disposed on the substrates so as to produce discharge in the discharge spaces divided with the barrier ribs, and a green phosphor layer that emits light by the discharge is provided, wherein the green phosphor layer includes a mixed phosphor containing a short persistence Mn2+-activated green phosphor with a 1/10 persistence time of more than 2 msec but less than 5 msec and either a Ce3+-activated green phosphor or an Eu2+-activated green phosphor that has a light emission peak in a wavelength range of not less than 490 nm and less than 560 nm.

    摘要: A low-pressure mercury discharge lamp with a very good color rendering and with a color point (x.sub.L, y.sub.I) on or close to the Planckian locus, includes a gastight, radiation-transmitting envelope which contains mercury and rare gas, and a luminescent layer includinga first luminescent material activated by bivalent europium and having an emission band whose maximum lies between 470 nm and 500 nm and whose half-value width is at most 90 nm,a second luminescent material activated by bivalent manganese and having at least an emission band mainly in the red region of the visible spectrum,a third luminescent material with a band emission whose maximum lies between 430 nm and 490 nm,a fourth luminescent material with emission mainly between 520 nm and 565 nm, anda fifth luminescent material with emission mainly between 590 nm and 630 nm.As compared to a lamp with only the first and second luminescent materials, the addition of the third through fifth materials considerably increases the luminous efficacy of the lamp while the very good color rendering is maintained, and the speed with which the luminescent layer is degraded during lamp life is considerably reduced.

The inventive phosphor absorbs radiation in a first wavelength range of the electromagnetic spectrum and emits radiation in a second wavelength range of the electromagnetic spectrum. This phosphor is a borophosphate activated with divalent rare earth metal ions.

    摘要: This invention relates to luminescent materials for ultraviolet light or visible light excitation containing lead and/or copper doped chemical compounds. The luminescent material is composed of one or more than one compounds of aluminate type, silicate type, antimonate type, germanate/or germanate-silicate type, and/or phosphate type. Accordingly, the present invention is a good possibility to substitute earth alkaline ions by lead and copper for a shifting of the emission bands to longer or shorter wave length, respectively. Luminescent compounds containing copper and/or lead with improved luminescent properties and also with improved stability against water, humidity as well as other polar solvents are provided. The present invention is to provide lead and/or copper doped luminescent compounds, which has high color temperature range about 2,000K to 8,000K or 10,000K and CRI over 90.
