    摘要: A light emitting device with optical enhancement structure. The light emitting device includes a light emitting element and an optical enhancement structure. Some of the light from the light emitting element is emitted in a diverging manner. The optical enhancement structure is optically coupled to the light emitting element, said optical enhancement structure having a light emerging surface that includes a central surface that is orthogonal to the normal and corner surfaces having profiles that are not orthogonal to the normal. The optical enhancement structure is a single structure for changing the normal angle of the first light emerging surface to increase light output efficiency. The optical enhancement structure have an optical characteristic that directs diverging light from the light emitting element along a path within the optical enhancement structure in a direction towards a normal of the pixel.

    摘要: This invention provides a three-dimensional luminescent display, comprising: a first substrate, a second substrate, a plurality of light emitting devices provided between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a plurality of lenticular lenses to show 3D image. Each light emitting device comprises a pixel and has a square shape, and the pixels are provided to form an N by M matrix (N and M are integers) and have a pitch of Xp inch (distance between two neighboring pixels along either the N direction or the M direction). The lenticular lenses form a linear array and the pitch of the lenticular lenses is Plens per inch (lines per inch; LPI). The light emitting devices are provided at the focal plane of the lenticular lenses. Moreover, Xp and Plens satisfy the following equation: 3*k*Xp*Plens=1 in which k is an integer greater than or equal to 1.

The surface of the first transparent inorganic thin-film layer 17 has an Ra (average roughness) value of not more than 5 nm and an Rmax (maximum roughness) value of not more than 80 nm. A color display includes the filter substrate, and a transparent electrode layer, a luminescent layer, and a second electrode layer stacked in that order on the filter substrate. The filter substrate has excellent environmental resistance and does not adversely affect the luminance of the display.

    摘要: A multi-layer antistatic/antireflective coating having high electrical conductivity (103 ohms) and low reflectivity (0.7%) is applied to the outer surface of a video display screen by sputtering. The multi-layer coating includes an inner antistatic layer deposited directly on the video display screen and comprised of ITO, TiO2, etc., having a light refractive index in the range of 1.8-2.2 and a thickness in the range of 18-35 nm. The outer antireflective layer is comprised of SiO2, MgO, etc., having a light refractive index in the range of 1.3-1.47 and a thickness in the range of 110-140 nm. The multi-layer coating is applied using a sputtering apparatus having a dual vacuum chamber, a diffusion pump connected to one of the chambers, and plural vacuum pumps connected to the diffusion pump and to the dual vacuum chamber with various gauges and valves for monitoring and controlling the sputtering operation.

    摘要: A color filter substrate includes a transparent substrate with first and second opposed edges, a color filter layer including color filters of first, second and third types extending in a first direction with the third type interposed between the first and second types, and an opaque layer including opaque portions extending in the first direction and another opaque portion connected to the other opaque portions along the second edge. The color filter substrate is fabricated by (a) forming the opaque layer on the transparent substrate, and then (b) forming the color filter layer thereon. The step (a) includes forming an opening between one end of each color filter of the third type and the second edge. The step (b) includes attaching and rolling a dry film in the first direction on the transparent substrate after the color filters of the first and second types have been provided thereon.
