Oxygen-absorbing resin composition, not responsive to a metal detector, producing no odor after absorption of oxygen and has excellent oxygen-absorbing performance in a wide range of humidity conditions from low to high humidity. An oxygen-absorbing molded article, and a multilayer body, container, injection-molded article and medical containers also provided. The oxygen absorbing resin composition contains a polyester, comprising at least one constituent unit having a tetralin ring component compound, a transition metal catalyst, and a catalyst for producing the polyester. The oxygen-absorbing molded article of the present invention can be formed by molding the oxygen-absorbing resin composition into a film or a sheet. The multilayer body, container, injection-molded article, medical container, etc. of the present invention are obtained by using the oxygen-absorbing resin composition.
Abstract:
A process for producing a heat delivery device containing or consisting of a polymer composition comprising a fragrance or part thereof comprising the steps of: a) producing a first polymer composition, by feeding a thermoplastic polyester, optionally a first thermoplastic copolyester elastomer and optionally further components of the composition to an extruder, melting and mixing the components, b) cooling down the first polymer composition and c) feeding the first polymer composition and a master batch comprising a second thermoplastic copolyester elastomer and the fragrance to an injection molding machine, melting and mixing the first polymer composition and the master batch in the injection molding machine to obtain the second polymer composition and injection molding of the so obtained molten second polymer composition into the mold of the high-heat delivery device or the part thereof.
Abstract:
Containers comprising a food-contacting surface and a coating thereon are disclosed. The coating comprises a polymer derived from benzene dimethanol having segments of the following structure: where R1 is phenylene and R2 is a divalent organic group and n=5 to 50.
Abstract:
A method to generate renewable high performance composites and thermoplastics. These materials can be generated from a renewable phenol (syringaldehyde) that can be derived from lignocellulosic biomass. The use of syringaldehyde as a precursor to composites has the potential to reduce the cost and environmental impact of structural materials, while meeting or exceeding the performance of current petroleum derived resins.
Abstract:
Substituted phenacyl molecules are provided and employed to create molecules and polymers/copolymers that exhibit photoresponsiveness. In some instances, the substituted phenacyl molecule is incorporated into the polymer/copolymer backbone, and photoirradiation of the polymer/copolymer causes the substituted phenacyl group to break down and the polymer/copolymer to undergo degradation. In other instances, the substituted phenacyl molecules extend as a side chain from the polymer/copolymer backbone. In yet other instances the substituted phenacyl molecules extend as a side chain from the polymer/copolymer backbone, and a drug or polymer additive is linked to the photoresponsive substituted phenacyl group such that photoirradiation releases the drug or additive. In yet other embodiments the substituted phenacyl molecules extend as a side chain from the polymer/copolymer backbone, and serve to link the polymer/copolymer to another polymer/copolymer backbone, and photoirradiation breaks the links.
Abstract:
Provided is a toner satisfying low-temperature fixing performance and long-term storage stability of fixed images. Further, provided is a toner capable of obtaining toner images excellent in long-term storage stability irrespective of use environments even in the case where images are formed by a high-speed fixing system having low internal pressure of a fixing nip of a fixing device and a high printing speed. The toner includes toner particles containing a binder resin having a resin A and B, and a coloring agent, in which the resin A includes a resin including a moiety capable of forming a crystalline structure; the resin B includes a resin free of a moiety capable of forming a crystalline structure; and ΔHhigh and ΔHlow satisfy the expressions: 2≦ΔHhigh≦45 3[%]≦{(ΔHlow−ΔHhigh)/ΔHlow}×100≦70[%] where ΔHhigh and ΔHlow represent a heat of melting derived from the binder resin measured at a temperature increase speed of 100° C./min and 10° C./min, respectively.
Abstract:
Methods of preparing an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester resin and an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester resin compound are disclosed. A method of preparing an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester resin may include: acetylating a first monomer including an amino group by a reaction with a carboxylic acid anhydride; acetylating a second monomer including a hydroxyl group and not including an amino acid group with an additional carboxylic acid anhydride; and synthesizing an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester prepolymer by a condensation polymerization reaction of the acetylated first and second monomers with dicarboxylic acid. A method of preparing an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester resin compound may use the aromatic liquid crystalline polyester resin prepared according to the forgoing method.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for treating vapours and condensates which arise during the production of polycondensates from bisphenols or high-value phenols by esterification and/or transesterification with alkyl or aryl esters of at least bivalent organic or inorganic acids. According to the invention, the treatment is carried out in a plurality of condensates and/or distillation columns which are connected in a step-by-step manner behind each other, each distillation column comprising a connected condensate. The dew point and the pressure in each condensate are adjusted such that in each step, monomers, oligomers or decomposition and transformation products are removed.
