摘要: Processes for converting a hydrocarbon reactant into an alcohol compound and/or a carbonyl compound are disclosed in which the hydrocarbon reactant and a supported transition metal catalyst—containing molybdenum, tungsten, or vanadium—are irradiated with a light beam at a wavelength in the UV-visible spectrum, optionally in an oxidizing atmosphere, to form a reduced transition metal catalyst, followed by hydrolyzing the reduced transition metal catalyst to form a reaction product containing the alcohol compound and/or the carbonyl compound.

摘要: Methods selectively and efficiently produce 3,7-dimethyl-7-octenol and a carboxylic acid ester thereof. More specifically, a method produces 3,7-dimethyl-7-octenol, including steps of: subjecting a 3-methyl-3-butenyl nucleophilic reagent (2) and a 1,3-dihalo-2-methylpropane compound (3) to a coupling reaction to obtain a 2,6-dimethyl-6-heptenyl halide compound (4); converting the compound (4) into a 2,6-dimethyl-6-heptenyl nucleophilic reagent (5); and subjecting the nucleophilic reagent (5) to an addition reaction with at least one electrophilic reagent selected from the group made of formaldehyde, paraformaldehyde and 1,3,5-trioxane, followed by a hydrolysis reaction to obtain 3,7-dimethyl-7-octenol (6); and the other method.

摘要: In one aspect, the invention provides a method for synthesizing a fatty olefin derivative. The method includes: a) contacting an olefin according to Formula I with a metathesis reaction partner according to Formula IIb in the presence of a metathesis catalyst under conditions sufficient to form a metathesis product according to Formula IIIb: and b) converting the metathesis product to the fatty olefin derivative. Each R1 is independently selected from H, C1-18 alkyl, and C2-18 alkenyl; R2b is C1-8 alkyl; subscript y is an integer ranging from 0 to 17; and subscript z is an integer ranging from 0 to 17. In certain embodiments, the metathesis catalyst is a tungsten catalyst or a molybdenum catalyst. In various embodiments, the fatty olefin derivative is a pheromone. Pheromone compositions and methods of using them are also described.

摘要: Process for the production of alkenols comprising the dehydration of at least one diol in the presence of at least one catalyst based on cerium oxide, wherein said catalyst based on cerium oxide is obtained by precipitation, in the presence of at least one base, of at least one compound containing cerium. Preferably, said diol may be a butanediol, more preferably 1,3-butanediol, still more preferably bio-1,3-butanediol derived from biosynthetic processes. Said alkenols may advantageously be used for the production of 1,3-butadiene, in particular of bio-1,3-butadiene.

摘要: Process for the production of 1,3-butadiene comprising: feeding a mixture (a) comprising 1,3-butanediol and water to an evaporator, said water being present in an amount of greater than or equal to 5% by weight, preferably ranging from 10% by weight to 85% by weight, more preferably ranging from 15% by weight to 30% by weight, relative to the total weight of said mixture (a), to obtain: (b) a gaseous stream comprising 1,3-butanediol exiting from the top of said evaporator; and, optionally, (c) a blow-down stream exiting from the bottom of said evaporator; feeding said gaseous stream (b) to a first reactor containing at least one dehydration catalyst to obtain (d) a stream comprising alkenols, water and, optionally, impurities and/or unreacted 1,3-butanediol, exiting from said first reactor; optionally, feeding said stream (d) to a first purification section to obtain: (e) a stream comprising al-kenols, water, and, optionally, impurities; (f) a stream comprising water and, optionally, impurities and/or unreacted, 3-butanediol; and, optionally, (f) a stream comprising impurities; feeding said stream (d) or said stream (e) to a second reactor containing at least one dehydration catalyst to obtain (g) a stream comprising 1,3-butadiene, water and, optionally, impurities and/or unreacted alkenols, exiting from said second reactor; feeding said stream (g) to a second purification section to obtain: (h) a stream comprising pure 1,3-butadiene; (i) a stream comprising water and, optionally, unreacted alkenols; and, optionally, (1) a stream comprising impurities. Said 1,3-butadiene may advantageously be used as a monomer or intermediate in the production of elastomers and (co)polymers.

The process includes forming an alkyne-terminated alcohol from the unsaturated alcohol and forming a polyol having two primary hydroxyl groups from the alkyne-terminated alcohol. The process further includes polymerizing a mixture that includes the polyol having the two primary hydroxyl groups to form a polyurethane material.

摘要: The present invention relates to formulations of volatile organic compounds having effects on Otiorhynchus weevils e.g., Otiorhynchus sulcatus. In some embodiments, volatile organic compounds selected from (E)-2-hexenol, (Z)-2-pentenol, methyl eugenol and a combination thereof are effective for attracting Otiorhynchus weevils. The invention also relates to traps and particularly to a “weevil trap” combined with any one or more of the disclosed volatile organic compounds selected from (E)-2-hexenol, (Z)-2-pentenol, methyl eugenol, and light which are effective for monitoring and controlling Otiorhynchus weevils.
