摘要： A tamperproof diamond package comprises a package body; at least one chip embedded in the package body and at least one antenna configured to enable communication with the chip; anti-counterfeiting visual impressions on the package body; a diamond pouch formed at a predetermined section within the package body; and one or more diamonds located inside the diamond pouch and an outer covering encasing the package body and configured to reveal any tampering with the one or more diamonds located in the diamond pouch. The diamond package can be credit card shaped and also contains serial number and website information and be provided in nominal dollar values. An associated diamond exchange system utilizes the diamond packages and provides a registration server which stores unique identifying information that enable interrogating the individual diamond packages and checking their authenticity with the registration server.

摘要： In the preferred embodiments, a paper cushioning product is provided that includes: a sheet of slit paper having a slit pattern, the slit pattern upon expansion forming cells that include land regions that are inclined with respect to a plane of an unexpanded sheet; the sheet of slit paper being configured such that expanding the sheet of slit paper with said slits produces land regions that have angles of inclination from the plane of the unexpanded sheet, with said land regions alternating on a row by row basis in forward and backward directions such that the slit pattern upon expansion includes an alternating cell opening pattern wherein each row opens in an opposite direction from an adjacent row. In preferred embodiments, the product further includes at least one of a) said sheet of slit paper is extensible paper that is extensible in a machine direction in a range of at least 3% and/or b) said sheet of slit paper includes slits configured such that upon expansion the slit sheet paper expands into an alternating row expansion pattern.

摘要： A new and novel packaging system in which an inflated bellows or bladder system is inflated around a fragile item such as a glass drinking vessel and conforms to the shape of the item so that it is securely restrained within its shipping box to prevent the object from moving while the box is shipped. The fragile item moves to the center of the box when the air bladder is inflated with air around the fragile item. As the pressure increases, the bladder will hold the item in the center of the box. A one-way check valve extends from the bladder to a location in a hole in the box or out of the box so that bladder can be easily filled. When the package arrives at its destination, a kinked tube is relaxed to allow air to leave the bladder to remove the object.

摘要： A package delivery apparatus uses an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to deliver a package containing a product to a delivery destination area. The UAV uses GPS signals to guide it to the delivery destination area and an altimeter to determine its height above the delivery destination area. The UAV then adjusts its height to a preferred drop or release height for that package and product and releases the package. An optional camera allows a human operator to view the delivery destination area. An expandable foam package surrounds the product to protect the product from impact and moisture. The package may be streamlined to reduce air resistance and increase the range of the UAV. The package characteristics, such as its thickness, are determined based one or more of the weight and fragile nature of the product, and the drop height.
