Abstract: A harvester that determines whether edible crowns are ready to be harvested and selectively harvests the edible crowns that are ready for harvesting. The harvester may include sensors, such as an imaging system, for detecting the edible crowns of individual broccoli plants. Image data from the imaging system may be provided as an input to a machine-learning model to determine a maturity (or immaturity) of the edible crowns. If the edible crowns are ready for harvesting, mechanical pickers harvest the edible crowns. For example, the harvester may include robotic arms having end effectors that cut the edible crowns from a remainder of the broccoli plant. The harvester may be configured to continuously harvest the edible crowns as the harvester moves about a field. In some instances, the harvester may include any number of robotic arms for harvesting the edible crowns across multiple rows of broccoli plants.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for vehicle navigation. In one implementation, a navigation system for a host vehicle may include at least one processor programmed to receive from a camera onboard the host vehicle at least one captured image representative of an environment of the vehicle; detect a pedestrian represented in the at least one captured image; analyze the at least one captured image to determine an indicator of angular rotation and an indicator of pitch angle associated with a head of the pedestrian represented in the at least one captured image; and cause at least one navigational action by the host vehicle based on the indicator of angular rotation and the indicator of pitch angle associated with the head of a pedestrian.

Abstract: An equipment fitting system that measures swings by a user of different pieces of equipment with inertial sensors, and analyzes sensor data to recommend which piece of equipment is optimal for the user from among those tested. Illustrative applications include fitting of baseball bats and golf clubs. Swing metrics calculated from sensor data may include an acceleration metric, a speed metric, and a momentum metric; these metrics may be combined into a metrics score for each piece of equipment. Other factors may be included in an overall score, such as the user's subjective score for each piece of equipment, and ratings from experts or other consumers. Users may assign the relative importance for the different factors to calculate an overall equipment score.

Abstract: Various systems and methods of dynamically filtering depth estimates to generate a volumetric map of a three-dimensional (3-D) environment having an adjustable maximum depth include obtaining sensor output including depth estimates and pose estimates in a robotic vehicle, detecting a condition that corresponds to an error level in the pose estimates, filtering the depth estimates obtained from the sensor output based on the detected condition, and generating the volumetric map of the 3-D environment using the filtered depth estimates. Filtering depth estimates obtained from the sensor output based on the detected condition may include adjusting a maximum depth parameter for generating the volumetric map. Further embodiments include a robotic vehicle and/or a computing device within a robotic vehicle including a processor configured with processor-executable instructions for controlling the maximum depth of a volumetric map of a 3-D environment.
