Abstract: The present disclosure includes systems and methods for determining dimensions, shapes, and locations of rooms of a building using a mobile device for controlling heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) provided to the rooms and building. A measuring device receives a shape of a room in the building and determines a dimension set of the room based on the shape of the room. The measuring device transmits the shape of the room and the dimension set to a mobile device that determines a layout of the building based on the shapes and the dimension sets corresponding to the rooms of the building. In this manner, the systems and methods provide the layout of the building more efficiently, resulting in an improved HVAC system installation and operation process.

Abstract: A sensor network for measuring and processing agricultural sensor measurements having multi-depth sensors, field monitors, and/or field data collection systems. The multi-depth sensor having a GPS; sets of physical sensors located at different depths; a processing structure sampling measurements from the physical sensors; and storing the measurements. The field monitor for use with a mobile platform having: a housing; a camera; a LiDAR sensor; a processing structure capturing point data and image data; generating above-ground field data; and determining crop data. The field data collection system having a stationary field monitor and one or more mobile field monitors capturing above-ground data. The stationary field monitor and the mobile field monitors having an associated GPS. The multi-depth sensors capture below-ground data and communicating the below-ground data to the stationary field monitor. A GPU processes the above-ground data and the GPS data to generate a point cloud data set.

Abstract: A system, apparatus, computer program product, and method use a convolutional neural network to auto-determine a first floor height (FFH) and a FFH elevation (FFE) of a building. The FFH, and FFE of the building are determined with respect to the terrain or surface of the parcel of land on which the building is located. In turn, by knowing the FFH and/or FFE of the building on the parcel, it is possible to use that information while performing a flood risk assessment to a property without requiring a personal inspection of the parcel by a human.

Abstract: A coordinate measuring device is provided having a light source that emits a beam of light. A distance meter measures a distance to a target. A first locator camera assembly includes a first camera and first lights. A second locator camera assembly includes a second camera and second lights. The processor matches retroreflectors in a first image of the first camera and a second image of the second camera based on a shape-and-context matching of retroreflector spots in the first and second image and on an area-context-matching of background objects in the first and second image. The retroreflector spots in the first image produced by illumination of the retroreflectors by the first lights, the retroreflector spots in the second image produced by illumination of the retroreflectors by the second lights. The processor provides a third image that includes both the background objects and markers indicating the matched retroreflectors.

Abstract: A carpenter square includes a body including a first, second, and third edges. A fence is pivoted to the first edge for movement among first, second, and third positions. In the first and second positions, the fence is normal to the body. In the third position, the fence is coplanar to the body. A hinge assembly pivots the fence to the body and includes a notch in the body, a recess in the notch, and a tab projecting from the fence and fit over the pin for reciprocating and swinging movement. The tab moves between a neutral stance, in which the tab is mis-registered with the recess and disables movement of the fence among the first, second, and third positions, and an advanced stance, in which the tab is registered with the recess and enables movement of the fence among the first, second, and third positions.

Abstract: A control system for a base supporting a boom assembly comprises long telescopic boom and telescopic stick. Mounted to the remote end of the stick is an end effector that supports a robot arm that moves a further end effector to manipulate the items. The robot arm has a robot base, and mounted above the robot base is a first target in the form of a position sensor, that provides position coordinates relative to a fixed ground reference. Mounted on the end of the robot arm immediately above the end effector is a second target that provides position coordinates relative to the fixed around reference. The fixed ground reference tracks the sensors and feeds data to the control system to move the stick with slow dynamic response and to control movement of the robotic arm and end effector with fast dynamic response.

Abstract: A mobile body is controlled even in a place in which a navigation signal is difficult to receive from a navigation satellite. The unit also includes a range calculator that calculates a movable range of the target from the three-dimensional coordinates and the three-dimensional point cloud data, and includes a controlled target position calculator that calculates a position of the target in the movable range.
