    摘要: An occupancy detection system for at least one vehicle seat includes: an antenna arrangement having an antenna; a control device that applies a radio-frequency transmission signal to, and receives a response signal from, the antenna arrangement; and a transmit array having a plurality of structured metallic layers disposed above each other and extending laterally, each two neighbouring metallic layers isolated from each other by an intermediate dielectric layer. The antenna arrangement transmits a radio-frequency transmission field through the transmit array onto the vehicle seat in response to the transmission signal and receives a radio-frequency response field through the transmit array to generate the response signal. The transmit array is adapted to refract at least one of the transmission field and the response field. The transmit array has a receive section that focuses a response field from a position of a vehicle seat to a position of a receive antenna.

    摘要: A system comprises a controller for a vehicle. The controller comprises a processor and a memory. The memory stores instruction executable by the processor. The controller is programmed to receive first data values from a first sensor which detects infrared light. The infrared sensor is disposed in a line of sight to a vehicle front passenger foot well. The controller is further programmed to activate a front passenger knee bolster upon determining, based at least in part on the first data values, that an object is present in the front passenger foot well and is in motion. The controller is yet further programmed to deactivate the knee bolster upon determining, based at least in part on the first data values, that there is no motion in the front passenger foot well.

    摘要: A carrier system includes at least one seat and a radio wave detection device. The radio wave detection device is configured to emit a detection wave towards at least one seat of the carrier. A reflected wave reflected in response to the detection wave is received by the radio wave detection device. A position of an occupied seat and a type of an occupant on the occupied seat are determined in response to the received reflected wave. A safety mechanism is activated in response to the position of the occupied seat and the type of the occupants.

    摘要: Described herein is a rear seat airbag deployment system, a rear seat airbag of the rear seat airbag deployment system, and a method of deploying the rear seat airbag. The rear seat airbag is configured in a substantially ‘U’ shape to encompass both the front and rear sides of rear seat occupants when the rear seat airbag is deployed. It follows that the rear seat airbag provides a safety cage that surrounds rear seat passengers upon deployment. Exemplary embodiments may further include an airbag deployment tool for gathering vehicle state information, analyzing the vehicle state information, determining whether to deploy one or more airbags, and controlling the deployment of the rear seat airbag.
