Abstract: A large-stroke electric headrest structure for a car seat, comprising: two guide rods (1) that are disposed in a same direction; a headrest body (2) externally connected with a slider (21), the slider (21) being provided with two through holes for the guide rods and a threaded through-hole all of which are disposed vertically, and the two guide rods (1) being disposed slidably in the two through holes, respectively; a supporting plate (3) connected to the two guide rods (1) and provided with a vertical through hole (d) aligned with the threaded through-hole; and a driving motor (4) mounted in a tiltable manner on a side of the supporting plate (3) away from the slider (21), wherein an elastic energy-absorbing plate (41) is padded between the driving motor (4) and the supporting plate (3), the driving motor (4) is connected in a transmission manner with a lead screw (42) movably inserted in the vertical through hole (d), an end of the lead screw (42) away from the driving motor (4) is screwed in the threaded through-hole, and a gap is reserved between the vertical through hole (d) and the lead screw (42).

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for improved and intuitive adjustment of a vehicle headrest. A vehicle headrest adjustment system may include touch sensors and/or motion sensors to determine a driver or passenger intends to adjust a vehicle headrest. Upon detection of touch consistent with intent to adjust a vehicle headrest and/or a hand gesture consistent with intent to adjust a vehicle headrest, a system may unlock a vehicle headrest. A driver or passenger may move the unlocked vehicle headrest into the desired position. Upon detection of a condition indicating the driver or passenger is finished and/or upon a set period of time elapsing, the system may re-lock the vehicle headrest into place. A vehicle headrest adjustment system may also include a power-assist function. The power-assist function may include motors and force sensors to assist a driver or passenger in moving a vehicle headrest into a desired position.

Abstract: A seat assembly includes a seat bottom and a seat back extending along a first axis and coupled to the seat bottom for receiving a vehicle occupant. The seat back includes a seat back frame with at least a first cross-member extending parallel to a second axis, perpendicular to the first axis. The seat assembly further includes a head restraint assembly with a head restraint and at least one head restraint post that supports the head restraint on the seat back. The seat assembly further includes a motor at least partially housed within the first cross-member of the seat back frame and configured to selectively generate an output torque. The seat assembly further includes a drive assembly coupled to the motor and the head restraint assembly to receive the output torque and, in response, translate the head restraint in at least one direction parallel to the first axis.

Abstract: Method for controlling a vehicle including a smartphone-engaging coupling element. Data about operational status of the vehicle is transferred from one or more vehicle-resident systems to a smartphone when the smartphone is engaged with the coupling element. Commands are received by the vehicle from the smartphone when the smartphone is engaged with the coupling element, which commands being based in part on data previously transferred from the vehicle-resident system(s) to the smartphone when the smartphone is engaged with the coupling element. A vehicular system, e.g., seat positioning system, mirror positioning system, passenger compartment temperature control system, route guidance or navigation system, changes its operation in accordance with the commands received by the vehicle from the smartphone when the smartphone is engaged with the coupling element.

Abstract: A vehicle seat is provided.
