摘要: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to radar and radar processing. As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments involving multi-input multi-output (MIMO) co-prime radar signals transmitted by a plurality of transmitters and reflected from at least one target, the reflected radar signals are processed by resolving ambiguities associated with a range-Doppler detection based on unique pulse repetition frequencies (PRF)s associated with respective chirp groups of the reflected radar signals. Phase compensation is applied to compensate for motion-induced phased biases and, thereafter, Doppler estimates are reconstructed to provide a dealiased version of the reflected radar signals.

摘要: A method for facilitating robust radar detection comprises generating a radar signal in a digital domain along at least one transmission path, the radar signal comprises a number of M periodic repetitions of a code sequence with a length Lc, multiplied with a progressive phase rotation ej·π/K·n, where Lc and M are integers, K is an integer or a non-integer, and n is a discrete time index corresponding to a code rate. The transceiver outputs a transmission wave that is frequency-modulated, and receives a reflected wave propagated by reflection of the transmission wave from a target and outputs a reception signal. When an interference wave that is a radio wave other than a reflected wave and that is frequency-modulated in a mode different from a mode of the transmission wave is received together with the reflected wave, the interference wave avoidance device changes a modulation frequency of the transmission wave based on a result of estimating a frequency of the interference wave received.

摘要: A method for identifying that a first FMCW radar unit is subject to parallel incoherent interference from a second FMCW radar unit is disclosed. The method comprises: acquiring a range-Doppler map, calculating a range-resolved signal for a negative half (corresponding to negative Doppler shifts) and a positive half (corresponding to positive Doppler shifts) of the range-Doppler map, and calculating a range-dependent noise profile for the range-Doppler map as, for each range interval, the smaller of the range-resolved signal for the negative half and the positive half. The method further comprises: identifying parallel incoherent interference in the range-Doppler map if a measure of a deviation between the range-resolved signal for the negative half and the positive half is smaller than a predetermined deviation threshold, and a measure of a difference between the range-dependent noise profile and a global noise floor of the range-Doppler map exceeds a predetermined noise threshold.

摘要: A method for calibrating a transmitter of a plurality of transmitters of a radar system is provided. The method includes setting the radar transmitter to be calibrated to a first Doppler Division Multiplexing (DDM) pattern and associating each of the other transmitters in the plurality with a respective second DDM pattern. A target is detected by performing radar detection with the plurality of transmitters, wherein the transmitter is operated with the first DDM pattern and each of the other transmitters is operated with its associated second DDM pattern, extracting Doppler Fourier transform coefficients for a Doppler spectrum peak corresponding to the target and for spurs associated with the peak, applying an inverse discrete Fourier transform to the extracted Doppler Fourier transform coefficients, detecting a phase error of the transmitter using a result of the inverse discrete Fourier transform and calibrating the transmitter according to the detected phase error.

摘要: A fast ramp frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system is described herein, where the fast ramp FMCW radar system is configured to employ velocity labeled multiplexing (VLM) in connection with generating detections for objects in a scene. Transmitters in the radar system are assigned different velocity labels that corresponds to different phase rates of change of consecutive chirps in signals emitted by the transmitters. Approaches for generating detections based upon echo signals that correspond to the emitted signals are also described herein.
