    摘要: Processes, systems, and methods described herein can be used for manufacturing reinforced carbon fiber structures. For example, processes can include forming a plurality of foam substructures. The foam substructures can be made of heat expanding foam that further expands when heated to a first threshold temperature. Processes can also include positioning carbon fiber on at least a portion of surfaces of the foam substructures, assembling the plurality of foam substructures with the carbon fiber into a superstructure, wrapping an outer surface of the superstructure with additional carbon fiber to form a wrapped superstructure, and curing the wrapped superstructure within a mold to form a reinforced carbon fiber structure. The reinforced carbon fiber structures can include internal truss structures within the foam. The reinforced carbon fiber structures can be used to form reinforced carbon fiber bicycle frame components.

    摘要: A crank arm for a bicycle may include a body extending along a body axis and having a first body end and a second body end axially spaced apart from the first body end. The insert may also include an insert provided toward the first body end. The insert may include a base portion having a radially outer surface. At least one extension may extend outwardly from the radially outer surface and may be encased within a corresponding recess in the body whereby relative planar movement between the body and the at least one extension in a first plane. The retaining portion may have a retaining portion width measured in the first direction and the retaining width may be greater than the throat width thereby inhibiting relative radial movement between the at least one extension and the recess and preventing radial extraction of the extension from the corresponding recess.

    摘要: A shock-absorbable bicycle frame includes a tubular member formed of an internal tube and an external tube sleeved onto at least one part of the internal tube. None of any gap is formed between the internal and external tubes. The internal tube is made of fiber reinforced thermosetting plastic. The external tube is made of fiber reinforced thermoplastic plastic. The method of manufacturing the shock-absorbable bicycle frame includes the steps of putting a fiber fabric impregnated with thermoplastic resin into a mold and heating it up to 230-250° C. to form an external tube, and inserting a fiber fabric impregnated with thermosetting resin into the external tube and heating it up to 140-160° C. to form an internal tube inside the external tube. In light of this, the bicycle frame is not only lightweight and preferably shock-absorbable but simple in fabrication with high yield rate.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method for producing a rim ring for a wheel rim, in particular for a wired-on wheel rim, with the following steps: providing an outer rim profile made of hardened composite fibrous material, providing a plastic shaping element, providing at least one top layer made of composite fibrous material, inserting the plastic shaping element radially within the outer rim profile, and positioning the top layer relative to the plastic shaping element and to the outer rim profile such that at least part of the top layer extends from the plastic shaping element onto the outside of the outer rim profile. The present invention further relates to a method for fastening spokes made of composite fibrous material to a rim ring. Finally, the present invention also relates to a rim ring, a wired-on wheel rim and a bicycle with wired-on wheel rims.
