Abstract: A molding device is includes a mandrel that has an arc-shaped cross section; a roller that has a round-shaped cross section, is movable along a surface of the mandrel, and applies a pressing force to a material to be molded placed on the mandrel; a gripping unit that grips the material to be molded on an outside of the roller with respect to the mandrel and applies a tensile force to the material to be molded; a roller driving unit that moves the roller along the surface of the mandrel; a gripping-unit driving unit that moves the gripping unit. A control unit synchronizes a position of the roller and a position of the gripping unit with each other to control the roller driving unit and the gripping-unit driving unit so that the material to be molded is arranged in a direction perpendicular to a vertical direction of the mandrel.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite structure includes providing a mandrel comprising a base part and at least one conical part. The base part comprises an elongate shaft. The base part of the mandrel comprises a cylindrical surface around a longitudinal axis of the base part. The at least one conical part extends from the cylindrical surface of the base part. The mandrel and a braiding machine are moved relative to one another such that fibre tows are braided over at least the base part of the mandrel. The mandrel and the braiding machine are arranged such that during the braiding process, none of the fibre tows intersect with a vertex of the at least one conical part of the mandrel.

Abstract: A balloon wrapping apparatus and a balloon wrapping method are disclosed by which a balloon can be wrapped appropriately. Abstract: Helically winding an extruded web to form a wall of a heated hose about a central axis, extruding a bead of plastics material around a heating wire such that the extruded bead comprises the heating wire at a first location within a cross-section of the extruded bead, helically winding the extruded bead onto the wall of the hose to provide a support helix, and exerting tension on the heating wire to draw down the heating wire toward the central axis such that the heating wire migrates radially inward from the first location to a second location within the cross-section of the extruded bead.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a paint roller manufacturing system and method uses a fabric-coating applicator to apply a fabric adhesive onto a portion of a perforated paint roller cover fabric material having a plurality of perforations through which adhesive may flow, and into the plurality of perforations and into interstitial spaces of the fabric material, to yield a length of coated fabric. An inner strip and an outer strip are wound about a mandrel in offset relation. A strip-coating applicator is used to apply a strip adhesive to the outer strip as it is wound about the mandrel. Simultaneously with the step of applying the strip adhesive to the outer strip, a portion of the coated paint roller fabric material is received at the outer strip and the length of coated fabric is wound about at least the outer strip to form a paint roller tube.
