Abstract:
A construction mat section may be formed by combining together a molded bottom mat component and a molded top mat component. In some instances, one or both of the molded bottom mat component and the molded top mat component may include ribs that are molded into the molded bottom mat component and/or the molded top mat component. Reinforcing members may be secured to at least some of the ribs in order to improve weight bearing capacity of the construction mat section by making the construction mat section stiffer. Several construction mat sections may be joined together to provide a construction mat assembly.
Abstract:
A method for securing a fitting 14 to a composite material rod 12, the method comprising forming a bore 20 in an end part of the rod 12, inserting a tool 26 into the bore 20 to cause radial expansion of the end part of the rod 12, inserting a retainer 22 into the expanded end part of the rod 12, and withdrawing the tool 26 from the end part of the rod 12, the retainer 22 serving to retain the end part of the rod 12 in an expanded condition. An assembly of a fitting 14 and composite material rod 12 is also described.
Abstract:
A ultrasonic welding method of joining dissimilar-material workpieces, such as sheet materials, and the joined components formed thereby. The method includes applying ultrasonic energy to a thermoplastic piece to fill a hole of a dissimilar piece to form a weld point that is made up with polymer from the thermoplastic piece. In general, the geometry of the thermoplastic piece is not altered during the process. The dissimilar piece generally has a higher melting temperate and can be metal, thermoset polymers, or other thermoplastic material. The welded pieces can be arranged in a lap, laminate, or double lap configuration. In some embodiments, the hole of the dissimilar sheet material includes undercut features that improve the mechanical interlock between the dissimilar pieces. In some embodiments, the weld point has a mushroom cap to improve mechanical interlock.
Abstract:
A fastening structure is fastened to an object. The fastening structure includes a carbon fiber-reinforced resin, a metal collar and a fastener. The outer circumference of a metal collar has a tapered portion, which is inclined with respect to the central axis of the collar. The inner circumferential surface of a through hole in a carbon fiber-reinforced resin (“CFRP”) material has an abutting portion that contacts the tapered portion of the collar via an electrically insulating adhesive. The tilt angle of the tapered portion of the collar and of the abutting portion of the CFRP material are the same as the angle at which the displacement of the CFRP material in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the abutting portion due to thermal deformation resulting from temperature changes is balanced with the displacement of the collar in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the tapered portion.
Abstract:
A component connection is provided. The component connection has a first component, at least a first male fixing element projecting from the first component, and a second component, the second component has at least a female fixing element, into which the male fixing element is fitted. At least the first component consists of a fiber-reinforced plastic material.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a thermal caulking device which cats quickly heat and cool an object to be caulked with low electrical power. Provided is a thermal caulking device which caulks a portion of a plastic part 7 as an object to be caulked, the thermal caulking device including: a metal tip 3 having a pressing part 3a which presses the object to be caulked and a heating rod 3c which is provided upright at a center part of the pressing part 3a; heating means 10c for heating the heating rod 3c; a cooling pipe 9 which cools the heating rod 3c; cooling fluid supply means 4 for supplying a cooling fluid to the cooling pipe 9; a holder 1 which holds the metal tip 3 and the cooling pipe 9 so that the cooling pipe 9 delivers the cooling fluid toward the heating rod 3c; and control means 6 for controlling the heating means 10c and the cooling fluid supply means 4, wherein the control means 6 heats the pressing part 3a from the heating rod 3c by the heating means 10c, and after the object to be caulked is thermally caulked by the pressing part 3a, supplies the cooling fluid from the cooling fluid supply means 4 to the cooling pipe 9 to cool the pressing part 3a from the heating rod 3c.
Abstract:
Segmented scaffolds composed of disconnected scaffold segments with overlapping end rings are disclosed. Scaffolds with at least one discontinuous link are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A hight-pressure composite vessel comprising a casing fabricated through blow-moulding a preform of thermoplastic, a connection pipe fitting. In the connection connection pipe fitting (3) with a retaining collar (7), opposite to a sealing groove (9) designed for an o-ring seal, there is a groove (10) for a seeger to mount a non-detachable collar (11a) of the preform (11) by way of the seeger (10a). A method of manufacturing the high-pressure composite vessel under which the casing of the vessel is fabricated of a perform that is blow-moulded so as to obtain the required dimensions thereof, whereas the preform of a thermoplastic material is fabricated using any technology; and the casing of the vessel is connected with the connection pipe fitting, and the external surface of the vessel re reinforced by a special composite layer. The preform (11) first undergoes a process of controlled crystalization and, then, the ring-shaped groove (11b) is made in the collar (11a) of the preform (11).
Abstract:
A shaft comprises two parts. One of these two parts is tube-shaped, and the other is pushed into the tube-shaped part along a main axis. The two parts are fixed to each other for rotation about the main axis and connected to each other in a gliding way along the main axis, by a spline provided between the two parts. One of the two parts comprises a plurality of elongated teeth which are parallel to the main axis and whose cross-sections decrease from the first part towards the second part. Intermediate spaces between neighboring teeth are at least as broad as the teeth. The other of the two parts, at its circumference facing the first part, is made of plastically deformable plastic material, and a counter-profile into which the teeth engage is pressed in the plastic material by intrusion of the teeth during assembly of the two parts.
Abstract:
A foldable table includes two runners and an injection mold table frame including a tabletop and a runner arrangement integrated with the tabletop. The tabletop includes a surrounding rim downwardly extended from a peripheral of the tabletop, wherein the runners are extended along two longitudinal sides of the tabletop to align with the surrounding rim. The runner arrangement includes a plurality of injection attachments integrally and spacedly extended from an inner side of the surrounding rim. A plurality of fasteners fasten at the injection attachments respectively through each of the runners to securely lock up the runners at the longitudinal sides of the tabletop respectively.
