Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for coupling a first panel to a second panel via a push retainer. The push retainer includes an annular body, flexible tabs, and legs. The annular body has a topside surface and an underside surface. The annular body defines an opening. The flexible tabs are coupled to the annular body and canted upwardly away from the topside surface at a first angle. The flexible tabs are configured to engage a post of the second panel. The legs extend downwardly away from the underside surface at a second angle. The legs are configured to engage the first panel to form a part-in-assembly (PIA) component when inserted through the opening.

Abstract: A mounting system includes a mounting device. Abstract: The invention relates to a clip for connecting a cover panel to a vehicle body. The clip comprises an annular inner portion defining a central through hole for receiving a fastening means for securing the clip to the vehicle body. The clip also comprises a plurality of leg portions for snap-locking a cover panel to be mounted to the vehicle body. The leg portions extend radially from the annular inner portion and are circumferentially distributed and separated from each other by void spaces. Each leg portion has an initial contact surface. Each leg portion is configured to flex radially inwardly towards the annular inner portion when the initial contact surface is subjected to a pressing force, and to snap radially outwardly when said pressing force on the initial contact surface as ceased. The axial extension of the annular inner portion is shorter than the axial extension of the leg portions.

Abstract: An improved panel fastener assembly is provided and includes a panel retainer having a first connector and a sheet retainer having a second connector. One of the connectors includes a neck extending to a head that presents a flat face opposite the neck and a contact surface between the neck and an outer edge. The other connector includes a body and a plurality of resiliently deflectable locking elements that each extend from a side of the body and define a locking surface opposing a surface of the body. The panel retainer and the sheet retainer are connectable via the first and second connectors. A method of fastening together a panel and a sheet is also provided. The method comprises installing the panel retainer on a panel, anchoring the sheet retainer to a sheet, and connecting together the panel and sheet retainers via the first and second connectors.

Abstract: A magnetic pin system includes a magnetic pin having a polymeric body including: a seating portion; a cylindrical-shaped insert portion integrally fixed to the seating portion; and a first locking wing and a second locking wing oppositely positioned about the insert portion with respect to the first locking wing and integrally connected to the insert portion. A metallic insert is fixed to the seating portion. The metallic insert is susceptible to a magnetic field applied to the metallic insert acting to co-rotate the metallic insert and the polymeric body to install and to remove the polymeric body from a fixed position. A magnetic coupler is positioned over the metallic insert and magnetically coupled to the metallic insert. The magnetic coupler is rotated to induce a 90-degree rotation of the magnetic coupler and thereby the metallic insert to lock the magnetic pin in the fixed position.

Abstract: A fastening clip for a vehicle to mount a vehicle structure to a vehicle body panel is provided. The fastening clip includes a main body that is formed integrally with a support portion disposed between the vehicle structure and the vehicle body panel.
