Abstract: Chemical flashings for track assemblies and mount assemblies employed in solar power installations are disclosed. In some embodiments, a track assembly having a base, a pair of rails, a sealant receiving cavity and a round groove extending into the base from the bottom of the base, and a compressible round seal disposed within the base extending past the bottom is disclosed. In some embodiments, a mount assembly having a vertical structure, a sealant receiving cavity and a round groove extending into the base from the bottom of the base, a compressible round seal disposed within the base extending past the bottom, and an excess sealant cavity is disclosed.

The solar panel array includes a plurality of solar panel modules and a hybrid solar panel module mounting assembly. The hybrid solar panel module mounting assembly includes a component of a rail-based mounting system and a component of a rail-less mounting system. At least one of the plurality of solar panel modules is mounted on the component of the rail-based mounting system and at least one of the plurality of solar panel modules is mounted on the component of the rail-less mounting system.

Abstract: The invention relates to a new way of stabilizing and mounting solar panels in the form of conventional heat exchangers comprising a trough and a glass cover or of a photovoltaic panel on house walls with the aid of frames made of natural or artificial stones which are made break-resistant using fiber materials and are stabilized in such a way that the panels are also break-resistant on impact and can be mounted as self-supporting structures on a wall; furthermore, the panels in particular satisfy high standards in respect of esthetics and are low-maintenance and thus permanently appealing. Multiple solar panels comprising stone frames can form entire stone-solar panel facades.

Abstract: An active insulated assembly for controlling heat transfer through insulated assemblies. The active insulated assembly includes a thermal conductor configured to actively move thermal energy from the active insulated assembly. The active insulated assembly also includes a first radiant barrier on a first side of the thermal conductor configured to reflect radiant energy back to its source and allow the assembly to resist heat transfer in either direction. The active insulated assembly further includes a second radiant barrier on a second side of the thermal conductor wherein the second side is opposite the first side, the second radiant barrier configured to reflect radiant energy back to its source and allow the assembly to resist heat transfer in either direction.

Abstract: Controlling heating and cooling in a conditioned space utilizes a fluid circulating in a thermally conductive structure in fluid connection with a hydronic-to-air heat exchanger and a ground heat exchanger. Air is moved past the hydronic-to-air heat exchanger, the air having fresh air supply and stale air exhaust. Sensors located throughout the conditioned space send data to a controller. User input to the controller sets the desired set point temperature and humidity. Based upon the set point temperature and humidity and sensor data, the controller sends signals to various devices to manipulate the flow of the fluid and the air in order to achieve the desired set point temperature and humidity in the conditioned space. The temperature of the fluid is kept less than the dew point at the hydronic-to-air heat exchanger and the temperature of the fluid is kept greater than the dew point at the thermally conductive structure.

Abstract: A roofing, cladding or siding module is described. The module comprises an underlapping region adapted to be substantially covered by an exposed region of an adjacent overlapping module when installed on a building surface. A plurality of projections are formed on an underside of the underlapping region. The projections are feet to support the module on the building surface to provide a gap between the module and the building surface, and/or provide a profile on the underside of the underlapping region to define a pathway for air flow between the module and the building surface. Each projection is formed by a downwardly projecting portion of the underlapping region with a corresponding cavity in an upper side of the underlapping region, and the cavity is shaped to prevent or minimize water pooling in the cavity.

Abstract: A modular, solar energy system comprising one or more modular solar panels. The solar panels include a pair of general planar, plates that are secured together to form a narrow channel therebetween for the circulation of a liquid. The solar panels have header assemblies affixed to opposite edges thereof and which control the entry of liquid into the channel and the exit therefrom. The inlet header assembly has a plurality of nozzles that are adjustable in size to control flow therethrough while the outlet header assembly has elongated nozzles to receive flow or liquid from the channel. The plates are preferably constructed of aluminum and one plate has a photovoltaic cell affixed thereto to face the sun and the other plate has a plurality of indentations that enhance the heat transfer characteristics with respect to the liquid flowing though the channel between the plates.
