The controller (201) comprises means to receive an indication of a user selected direction of travel and an indication of the direction of motion of the vehicle (100). The controller (201) is configured to determine a proposed torque value in dependence on the direction of motion being an opposite direction to the selected direction of travel. The controller (201) also includes means to provide an output signal (403) configured to cause a motor (102) to apply torque, in dependence on the proposed torque value, to oppose motion in the opposite direction.

    摘要: A controller is provided for a parallel hybrid electric vehicle. The vehicle powertrain includes an engine, an electric propulsion motor powered by an energy storage device, and an electric generator driven by the engine to recharge the energy storage device. The controller receives one or more signals indicative of one or more operating modes in which the vehicle is to be operated; receives a signal indicative of demanded powertrain drive torque; and causes the engine and electric propulsion motor to deliver drive torque to one or more wheels to drive the vehicle. The controller causes the powertrain to operate in a parallel powertrain mode, where the amount of torque delivered by the electric propulsion motor is determined by the controller in dependence on the signal indicative of demanded powertrain drive torque and the one or more signals indicative of the one or more operating modes.

    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide an electric machine control system for a vehicle, the electric machine control system comprising one or more controllers, wherein the vehicle comprises an electric machine arranged to be selectively coupleable to provide torque to at least one wheel of an axle of the vehicle, the control system comprising input means arranged to receive a speed signal (410) indicative of a speed of the vehicle and a status signal (470) indicative of a status of a coupling of the electric machine to the at least one wheel of an axle of the vehicle, output means (340) arranged to output a coupling signal to control coupling of the electric machine to the at least one wheel of the axle, and processing means arranged to determine (1210) a coupling state of the electric machine to the at least one wheel of the axle and to control the output means to output (1220) a coupling signal indicative of the determined coupling state, wherein the processing means is arranged, in dependence on the status signal being indicative of a failure (1230) to change the coupling state of the electric machine to the at least one wheel of the axle in dependence on a change in the determined coupling state, to control the output means to output the coupling signal (345) indicative of a retry (1250) of the change in the coupling state in dependence on the speed signal.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a controller for controlling at least first and second propulsion units to generate a combined torque at least substantially equal to a total requested torque. At least first and second torque ranges are determined for each of the at least first and second propulsion units. The at least first and second torque ranges are determined to maintain dynamic stability of the vehicle. A total power cost is determined in dependence on an estimated power loss of the at least first and second propulsion units within said at least first and second torque ranges and a minimum value of the determined total power cost identified. The torque to be generated by each of said at least first and second propulsion units corresponding to the identified minimum value of the total power cost is determined. At least first and second control signals are generated to control said at least first and second propulsion units to generate the determined torque. The present invention also relates to a vehicle incorporating the controller and a related method.
