摘要: A technique capable of improving the ability to observe a specimen using an electron beam in an energy region which has not been conventionally given attention is provided. This specimen observation method comprises: irradiating the specimen with an electron beam; detecting electrons to be observed which have been generated and have obtained information on the specimen by the electron beam irradiation; and generating an image of the specimen from the detected electrons to be observed. The electron beam irradiation comprises irradiating the specimen with the electron beam with a landing energy set in a transition region between a secondary emission electron region in which secondary emission electrons are detected and a mirror electron region in which mirror electrons are detected, thereby causing the secondary emission electrons and the mirror electrons to be mixed as the electrons to be observed. The detection of the electrons to be observed comprises performing the detection in a state where the secondary emission electrons and the mirror electrons are mixed. Observation and inspection can be quickly carried out for a fine foreign material and pattern of 100 nm or less.

摘要: A portable device, which performs wireless communication with a communication peer, includes a battery, which powers an electronic component, and a case, which accommodates the electronic component and battery. The case includes a battery compartment having an opening. An elastic waterproof seal surrounds the opening. A battery lid, which covers the opening, is formed integrally with the waterproof seal and coupled to the case in a direction perpendicular to a radial direction of the waterproof seal. A rim around the opening of the battery compartment pushes the waterproof seal when coupling the battery lid to the case thereby elastically deforming the waterproof seal in an inward radial direction. The waterproof seal, when elastically deformed, keeps the battery lid coupled to the case and seals the battery lid and case in a liquid-tight state.

摘要: A helmet is provided that can be ventilated without any decrease in helmet-shell strength. The helmet comprises a helmet shell 3 and an impact-absorbing member 4 disposed along the inner surface of the helmet shell 3. The helmet shell 3 has paired right-hand and left-hand cheek-covering portions 9, and a side hemming member 22 is attached to a lower edge 9a of the cheek-covering portion 9. The cheek-covering portion 9 has an upwardly cut-out portion 50 formed on its lower-end side, and the lower edge 9a of the cheek-covering portion 9 is slanted upward in peak form from both sides toward the center in front-back direction. The side hemming member 22 has a wide portion 52 formed so as to swell upward in peak form for obtaining a wide vertical width in correspondence with the cut-out portion 50, and the wide portion 52 has an air ejection hole 55.
