Each wireless communication unit comprises a local cache to store non-real-time data; and a gateway to process non-real-time data requests and provide an interface to a packet network. The plurality of wireless communication units in each of the plurality of areas of interest are networked together such that each wireless communication unit has access to data stored on the local cache of another of the plurality of wireless communication units, wherein the gateway in each of the plurality of wireless communication units is operable to provide the requested non-real-time data, if available, from one of its local cache and the cache of other wireless communication units prior to passing the non-real-time data request to the packet network.

    摘要: A filter cartridge includes a one-piece housing having a port and a filtration element disposed in the housing. The filtration element is a coherent filter block that can be, but is not necessarily, larger in cross dimension than the port. In one embodiment, the filtration element is a coherent filter block that generally conforms to the shape of the hollow interior, but is slightly smaller than the hollow interior so as to define a gap between the filtration element and the inner surface. One method for constructing a filter cartridge includes providing a housing having a hollow interior and at least one port, introducing a granular material into the hollow interior via the port, and transforming the granular material in the hollow material into a coherent filter block. Another method for constructing a filter cartridge includes providing a filtration element in the form of a coherent filter block, and overmolding a housing around the filtration element.

    摘要: A fluid treatment system is provided, the system including a fluid treatment cartridge for treating fluid passing therethrough. The cartridge has an inlet through which untreated fluid enters the cartridge and an outlet from which treated fluid exits the cartridge. The cartridge also has a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag for storing data. The fluid treatment system also includes a connection manifold configured to detachably support the fluid treatment cartridge. The connection manifold has an inlet flow path for directing untreated fluid to the inlet of the cartridge and an outlet flow path for directing treated fluid from the outlet of the cartridge, and a data sensor for reading data stored on the RFID tag. The fluid treatment system further includes means for evaluating the data stored on the RFID tag and read by the data sensor, as well as means for deterring fluid treatment system use based upon the evaluation of the data stored on the RFID tag and read by the data sensor.

Each of the insulated conductors within each of the twisted pairs of conductors defines a twinning helix having a first rotative direction, and each of the twisted pairs defines a bunching helix having a second rotative direction, the second rotative direction being opposite that of the first rotative direction. In this configuration, the communications cable can provide acceptable crosstalk and attenuation performance, even with foamed insulators that have demonstrated unacceptable performance when twinned and bunched in the same rotative direction.

    摘要: A telecommunications system and method is disclosed for providing mobility management for a Mobile Station (MS) to allow the MS to receive Internet telephone calls when the MS is in idle mode. This can be accomplished by using a voice gateway to transform an incoming Internet phone call to a normal cellular voice call. In addition, by introducing a new Intelligent Network (IN) application, which handles location updates for the MS with a central Internet telephony server, an MS in idle mode can receive incoming Internet telephony calls. The IN application can obtain a temporary Internet Protocol (IP) address for the MS from a Direct Access Unit (DAU) connected to the voice gateway associated with the serving Mobile Switching Center (MSC) and register this temporary IP address with the central Internet server, which uses this temporary IP address to forward incoming Internet telephony calls to the Voice Gateway.

    摘要: A call setup signal is routed to the gateway mobile switching center (GMSC) serving a public land mobile network (PLMN) associated with a called mobile station. The GMSC then sends a signal including data identifying the originating switch to the home location register (HLR) associated with the called mobile station. Upon determining that it would be more efficient and direct for the originating switch to release the first call connection to the GMSC and to re-originate a new call setup signal directly towards the mobile switching center (MSC) currently serving the called mobile station, the HLR transmits a Mobile Application Part (MAP) based signal to the originating switch. As a result, the originating switch releases the original call connection and re-originates a call setup signal using a roaming number identifying the MSC currently serving the mobile station as a destination address.
