摘要: A system includes a sand filter disposed within a tank. A pipe connected to the tank is configured to flow fluid in or out of the tank. The system includes a valve configured to selectively allow fluid to flow through the pipe and a flowmeter configured to measure a flow rate of fluid through the pipe. An automatic control unit includes one or more processors and a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions executable by the one or more processors to perform operations including determining a debris accumulation status for the sand filter based in part on flow measurements from the flowmeter, and determining a failure status of the valve based in part on flow measurements from the flowmeter.

摘要: A system can include a filter assembly with a filter and a substance in the filter assembly, and at least one optical computing device having an integrated computational element which receives electromagnetic radiation from the substance. A method can include receiving electromagnetic radiation from a substance in a filter assembly, the electromagnetic radiation from the substance being received by at least one optical computing device having an integrated computational element, and the receiving being performed while a filter is positioned in the filter assembly. A detector may receive electromagnetic radiation from the integrated computational element and produce an output correlated to a characteristic of the substance. A mitigation technique may be selected, based on the detector output.

摘要: A filter base for receiving a complementary mating filter housing assembly. The filter base includes a base platform having fluid ingress and egress stanchions, and a wire harness assembly including a connector housing integral with or connected to the base platform for establishing an electrical connection between the filter base and the filter housing assembly. The wire harness assembly includes conductors extending between first and second connectors, with one or more resilient contacts provided on the second connector. The connector housing has an upper surface and an oppositely facing lower surface and is dimensioned to receive a first end portion of the one or more contacts. The contacts are flexible from a first position to a second position when a mating portion of the one or more contacts engages a mating connection surface of the filter housing assembly. The mating connection surface may be a circuit pad of a printed circuit board, wherein the contact mating portions are configured to be positioned in mechanical and electrical engagement with the circuit pads when the filter housing assembly is received within the filter base.

摘要: In an ice maker, a controller is operatively connected to the ice maker's water system to determine a parameter indicative of a total amount of water filtered by a replaceable filter cartridge. Based on the determined parameter, the controller can provide a numerical indication of the total amount of water filtered by the replaceable filter cartridge. Based on the determined parameter, the controller can determine that the replaceable filter cartridge requires replacement. The parameter can be determined based on the amount of time a water inlet valve is opened and/or a water pressure signal. The controller can take action when it determines that the water filter needs replacement, for example, by making a local alarm indication, pushing a remote notification, or making an automated purchase transaction for a new filter cartridge.

摘要: The invention relates to preventing microplastics from the entering the environment. In particular the invention is directed to filtering microfibers from the waste water from washing machines as well as waste from other appliances and other sources of effluent with entrained microplastics or other microp-ollutants. A separator is provided for separating microplastics from effluent comprising; a chamber including at least one sieve structure, a shroud that acts as a vortex finder and a baffle coaxial with the shroud and projecting upwards from the lower end of the chamber, wherein the shroud has a circular lower rim and the baffle has a circular upper rim, wherein the radius of the lower rim of the shroud is greater than the radius of the upper rim of the baffle.
