Abstract:
Disclosed is a system and method for suggesting messages that are automatically learned, personalized and diversified by leveraging messages sent by a large number of users in order to provide message completions that are as engaging as possible. The disclosed systems and methods learn from recurrent messages sent to a recipient, and suggest message completions based upon user behavior. The systems and methods compute a ranked list of suggested message completions after every key stroke or character input, and if the list satisfies a given confidence threshold, it is returned and displayed to the user.
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes systems and methods for email management that leverages information derived from a sender's message activity with particular recipients in order to automatically format subsequent messages to those recipients according to the derived information. The present disclosure describes determining message templates associated with messages sent to repetitive recipients, and applying those determined templates upon composition of subsequent messages to the same recipients. Message templates comprise information associated with a message's settings, layout, message content, content type(s), a message type and the like. The determination of message templates and template information for application to messages being composed can be based on learned expressions and/or patterns from a sender's message activity or behavior. Additionally, the message templates can be utilized for monetization purposes in order to serve targeted advertisements when communicating with repetitive recipient users.

A system and method for determination and display of personalized distance. A request is received for the determination of a personalized distance over a network, wherein the request comprises an identification of a requesting user, and a plurality of real world entities comprising at least a starting location and an ending location. At least one route is determined between the first location and the second location. Spatial, temporal, topical, and social data available to the network relating to the requesting user and each real world entity and the route is retrieved using a global index of data available to the network. A personalized distance is calculated via the network between the first location and the second location using spatial, temporal, topical, and social data relating to the requesting user and each real world entity and the route. A representation of the personalized distance calculated for the route is displayed on a display medium.
Abstract:
A media identification system generates reference fingerprints for known media samples and stores the reference fingerprints in a reference database. The media identification system uses the reference fingerprints to match a fingerprint generated from an unknown media sample to identify that unknown sample. When storing new reference fingerprints in the reference database, partitions of the database are selected to balance the search loads on the database when it is used by the media identification system. For example, the selected partitions may be determined based at least in part on the access rates of the partitions by the media identification system. New reference fingerprints will tend to be placed in partitions that have relatively lower access rates that the other partitions, which will tend to balance the search loads on the partitions by the media identification system.

A behavioral targeting system determines user profiles from online activity. The system includes a plurality of models that define parameters for determining a user profile score. Event information, which comprises on-line activity of the user, is received at an entity. To generate a user profile score, a model is selected. The model comprises recency, intensity and frequency dimension parameters. The behavioral targeting system generates a user profile score for a target objective, such as brand advertising or direct response advertising. The parameters from the model are applied to generate the user profile score in a category. The behavioral targeting system has application for use in ad serving to on-line users.

The disclosure provides technology for managing the placement of advertisements. An ad insertion platform contains one or more lists that allow the ad insertion platform to filter advertisement placements and manage placing advertisement opportunities to the appropriate buyers. The disclosure also provides a database and monitoring software to allow faster querying and management of data for the real time bidding system.

Methods, systems and programming for measuring user treatment effectiveness. First information related to activities of each user in a first user set in response to a first treatment is received. Second information related to activities of each user in a second user set in response to a second treatment is received. A model with respect to features is obtained based on the first and second information. Each user is associated with the features. A weighing factor for each user is estimated based on the model and each user's features. A first success rate is computed based on the first information and the weighting factors for each user in the first user set. A second success rate is computed based on the second information and the weighting factors for each user in the second user set. A metric of effectiveness is measured based on the first and second success rates.

Disclosed is a system and method for recommending web content to a second screen. A server computer analyzes closed captioning text associated with a media program being experienced in a time period by a user having a client device. In response to the analyzing of the closed captioning text, the server automatically extracts an entity from the closed captioning text and determines an online web page describing the entity. The server utilizes a graph model to retrieve a relevant information item for the entity, where the graph model includes a plurality of entity nodes and a plurality of query nodes. The server communicates, within the time period, the relevant information item to the client device.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for generating and playing a sequence of media objects based on a mood gradient are also disclosed. A mood gradient is a sequence of items, in which each item is media object having known characteristics or a representative set of characteristics of a media object, that is created or used by a user for a specific purpose. Given a mood gradient, one or more new media objects are selected for each item in the mood gradient based on the characteristics associated with that item. In this way, a sequence of new media objects is created but the sequence exhibits a similar variation in media object characteristics. The mood gradient may be presented to a user or created via a display illustrating a three-dimensional space in which each dimension corresponds to a different characteristic. The mood gradient may be represented as a path through the three-dimensional space and icons representing media objects are located within the three-dimensional space based on their characteristics.

A cross-device messaging integration capability is disclosed, which allows a user using a first device to indicate, using a first user computing device, an intent to perform one or more messaging actions at one or more second user computing device(s). The first and second devices may be different devices. The user may receive a reminder or other notification of the user's intent at the second device(s).
