Abstract: The present invention prepared insulin-producing endocrine cells by inducing the differentiation of human embryonic stem cells or human induced pluripotent stem cells into definitive endoderm (DE), pancreatic endoderm (PE), endocrine progenitors (EP), and endocrine cells (EC) stepwise in that order. Particularly, the present invention established the conditions for the formation of an insulin producing endocrine aggregate (EA) from the endocrine cells. Especially in this invention, it was confirmed that the endocrine aggregate has the cell proliferation potential at a significant level and has the increased insulin productivity as well as the activity of inhibiting cell necrosis and apoptosis. Therefore, the method for preparing the endocrine aggregate of insulin-producing beta cells from human pluripotent stem cells can be effectively used for the examination of the medicinal effect of the conventional antidiabetic agents and of the novel antidiabetic drugs.

Abstract: A processor and corresponding method are described including cores having a thread set allocated based on a pre-set implementation order, and a controller configured to receive scheduling information determined based on an implementation pattern regarding the allocated thread set from one of the cores and transmit the scheduling information to another of the cores. The one of cores determines the scheduling information according to characteristics of an application when implementation of the thread set is completed. Abstract: A hologram generating apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a hologram signal generating unit configured to, based on light projected on at least some points corresponding to an object, generate a hologram signal corresponding to the at least some points on at least one two-dimensional plane, a processor configured to calculate a sparsity corresponding to the two-dimensional plane based on the hologram signal, and to calculate a fringe pattern based on at least some of the hologram signal, and a pattern writing unit configured to record the fringe pattern on a computer-generated holography (CGH) plane, wherein the processor is further configured to repeatedly calculate a fringe pattern until a number of dominant signals of the calculated fringe pattern coincides with a predetermined threshold value determined based on the sparsity.

Abstract: A current mode hysteretic buck converter employing an auto-selectable frequency locking circuit is disclosed. The auto-selectable frequency locking type buck converter include a current mode hysteretic buck converter for converting an input DC voltage into a lower DC voltage, and a frequency locking unit for locking a switching frequency of the current mode hysteretic buck converter wherein the switching frequency is locked through adjusting a locking value of the switching frequency to be a predetermined value according to a size of a load. The buck converter is, based on the current mode hysteretic control, related to a circuit that locks the switching frequency of the converter to reduce the difficulty of designing electromagnetic interference (EMI) filters in the converter. In addition, the buck converter can improve the efficiency at light load by adjusting the switching frequency which is locked according to the load current.

Abstract: Provided is a video encoding apparatus, including a signal separator to separate a differential image block into a first domain and a second domain, based on a boundary line included in the differential image block, the differential image block indicating a difference between an original image and a prediction image with respect to the original image, a transform encoder to perform a transform encoding with respect to the first domain using a discrete cosine transform (DCT), a quantization unit to quantize an output of the transform encoding unit in a frequency domain, a space domain quantization unit to quantize the second domain in a space domain, and an entropy encoder to perform an entropy encoding using outputs of the quantization unit and the space domain quantization unit.
