Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring use, determining risk, and pricing insurance policies for a vehicle having one or more autonomous or semi-autonomous operation features arm provided. According to certain aspects, the operating status of the features, the identity of a vehicle operator, risk levels for operation of the vehicle by the vehicle operator, or damage to the vehicle may be determined based upon sensor or other data. According to further aspects, decisions regarding transferring control between the features and the vehicle operator may be made based upon sensor data and information regarding the vehicle operator. Additional aspects may recommend or install updates to the autonomous operation features based upon determined risk levels. Some aspects may include monitoring transportation infrastructure and communicating information about the infrastructure to vehicles.

Abstract: A mobile object control apparatus, with respect to a first mobile object and a second mobile object, predicts whether the first and second mobile objects will collide with each other at an intersection. The apparatus calculates, when the first and second mobile objects will collide with each other at the intersection, a speed of the first mobile object at which the collision can be avoided at the intersection. The processor extracts a third mobile object that is in an intersection area and has passed through the intersection, and estimates that the third mobile object has a high possibility of colliding with the first mobile object at the intersection. The intersection area is set at the intersection through which the first mobile object passes.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a distributed data center that includes resources carried by a fleet of vehicles. The system includes sensors configured to generate output signals conveying information related to the vehicles and/or the surroundings of vehicles. The system includes a remote computing server configured to maintain map data and distribute it to the fleet, including local map data to individual vehicles pertaining to their surroundings. Individual vehicles may compare the local map data with the information related to their individual surroundings. Based on such comparisons, individual vehicles may detect discrepancies between the local map data and the information related to their individual surroundings. The remote computing server may modify and/or update the map data based on the detected discrepancies.

Abstract: An information processing device includes a communication unit and a controller. The communication unit performs data communication with another vehicle present in a periphery of a host vehicle. The controller controls the data communication performed by the communication unit. The controller specifies each second other vehicle for which a quality of communication with the host vehicle does not satisfy a prescribed standard as a designated moving body. The controller identifies a relative position relative to the host vehicle, and a reception power of radio waves received from the designated moving body, for each designated moving body. The controller controls directivity related to wireless communication performed by the communication unit based on the relative position and reception power for each other vehicle.

Abstract: According to certain aspects, a computer-implemented method for operating an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle may be provided. With the customer's permission, an identity of a vehicle operator may be identified and a vehicle operator profile may be retrieved. Operating data regarding autonomous operation features operating the vehicle may be received from vehicle-mounted sensors. When a request to disable an autonomous feature is received, a risk level for the autonomous feature is determined and compared with a driver behavior setting for the autonomous feature stored in the vehicle operator profile. Based upon the risk level comparison, the autonomous vehicle retains control of vehicle or the autonomous feature is disengaged depending upon which is the safer driver—the autonomous vehicle or the vehicle human occupant. As a result, unsafe disengagement of self-driving functionality for autonomous vehicles may be alleviated. Insurance discounts may be provided for autonomous vehicles having this safety functionality.

Abstract: Disclosed is a “connectivity matrix” that wireless entities (vehicles, fixed assets, etc.) can display indicating the 5G/6G wireless address of the entity. Other wireless devices can then image the connectivity matrix, determine the wireless address, and then communicate in sidelink, on frequencies allocated for ad-hoc networking. Alternatively, the two entities can communicate through a local base station, on managed channels, using the displayed wireless address. The matrix can provide additional information, such as the frequency, bandwidth, and modulation scheme favored by the entity. Alternatively, the matrix can provide a key code maintained by a central authority, so that a second wireless entity can read the code and request the associated wireless address (and frequency, bandwidth, etc.) from the central authority. By either method, the two wireless entities can then communicate explicitly thereafter.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a traffic light indication system (system) with one or more input devices for generating a status input signal associated with a status of a traffic light. The input devices further generate an overriding input signal associated with a hazardous driving condition. The system further includes a notification device for providing a traffic light notification to the user. The system further includes a computer having a processor and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium (CRM) storing instructions. The processor is programmed to generate an actuation signal based on the status input signal. The processor is further programmed to refrain from generating the actuation signal, in response to the processor determining the predicted collision based on the status input signal and the overriding input signal. The notification device provides the traffic light notification to the user, in response to the notification device receiving the actuation signal.
