    摘要: A fuel injector includes a nozzle body having a spray tip with at least one spray orifice and a needle slideably arranged in the nozzle body in order to control the spray orifice. A control chamber is associated with the needle, which is filled with high-pressure fuel in order to exert a pressure force on the needle in its closing direction; the control chamber being in communication with a high pressure fuel channel through an inlet restrictor and with a low pressure drain through an outlet restrictor via a control valve to selectively allow or hinder the flow of fuel out of the control chamber through the outlet restrictor. The inlet restrictor and outlet restrictor are designed so that the ratio of outlet fuel flow rate over inlet fuel flow rate increases at low fuel temperatures, in order to cause a greater pressure reduction in the control chamber.

    摘要: The invention relates to a maintenance system for an injector controlled by a solenoid actuator. The system comprises an electronic control unit arranged in a housing from which an electrical cable extends terminated by a special adapter capable of being connected onto the injector so that the injector is electrically connected with the electronic control unit while it remains in place on the internal combustion engine. The electronic control unit is designed for executing a plurality of operations according to a cycle of measurements including checking the electrical insulation, measuring the electrical resistance and measuring the electrical inductance of the solenoid and a solenoid activation test. The system is further provided with actuating means for starting the cycle and an information means for indicating data relating to the cycle in progress.

    摘要: An electrical connector assembly of a fuel injector includes a body with external walls defining an internal volume and an internal wall dividing the connector in a first part adapted to be fixed in a complementary engagement with the body of the injector and, in a second part adapted to receive another electrical connector. The electrical connector assembly also includes at least one electrical terminal extending through the internal wall from an inner extremity protruding in the inner volume of the first part of the body, to an outer extremity protruding in the outer volume of the second part of the body. The outer extremity is shaped to receive in a complementary engagement an electrical terminal of said another electrical connector. The connector assembly is adapted to be in fluid communication with the back leak return conduit of the injector.

    摘要: The present invention relates to squib connectors, for instance for airbag ignition systems, which allow the electrical or electronic monitoring of the correct coupling of a squib plug connector with its corresponding counterpart. According to the invention, a squib connector has at least two terminals having corresponding signal lines. In order to allow an electrical monitoring of the correct coupling of the plug connector, the terminals are in electrical contact with each other in the uncoupled or incorrectly coupled condition of the plug connector. This electrical contact between the terminals is configured to be separated upon correct coupling to a corresponding counter-connector either automatically or by an actuating action. The disconnecting of the terminals may then be monitored by any suitable monitoring means.

    摘要: A diagnostic method for a particulate filter in an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine is presented. The exhaust gas stream downstream of the particulate filter is monitored by a downstream soot sensor having a characteristic sensor cycle; and the accumulation of soot at an upstream soot sensor is monitored over a respective sensor cycle of the downstream soot sensor. The particulate filter operating status is decided on the basis of the information of the downstream and upstream soot sensors. The amount of accumulated soot is determined based on the sensor cycles of the upstream soot sensor, and may be expressed as a soot loading level or as a number of sensor cycles. The efficiency of the particulate filter may be determined from the respective number of sensor cycles of the soot sensors.
