摘要： A connector includes a housing having a mating portion matable with a mating connector and a flexible beam with a housing-side catch portion, and a connection position assurance device (CPA) that slides between a first position on the housing and a second position closer to the mating portion than the first position. The CPA in the second position assures that the connector is completely mated with the mating connector. The flexible beam extends in a sliding direction of the CPA and slidably supports the CPA. The housing-side catch portion interferes with the CPA and deflects by interfering with the CPA. The CPA includes a rail that has a device-side catch portion interfering with the housing-side catch portion and that slides while being supported by the flexible beam.

The multiport assembly can include a multiport device that communicatively couples multiple sets or pairs of connectors, such as optical connectors or electrical connectors, together. The multiport assembly can also include an auxiliary port device that couples to the multiport device to expand the capacity of the multiport assembly. Both the multiport and auxiliary port devices can be selectively configured to receive specific types of connectors by selectively coupling to different types of adapters, where the types of adapters correspond to the types of connectors. When coupled to the multiport or auxiliary port devices, the adapters facilitate the formation of the communication between its corresponding set of connectors.

摘要： An electrical connector includes a connector housing having terminal cavities which are arranged in an array having at least two rows and at least two columns. Each of the terminal cavities are configured to receive electrical terminals. Each terminal cavity defines a flexible primary locking mechanism integrally formed with the connector housing and configured to engage an edge of the electrical terminal, thereby inhibiting removal of the electrical terminals from the terminal cavities. The electrical connector also includes a secondary locking mechanism slidably attached to the connector housing and movable from a pre-staged position to a staged position. The secondary locking mechanism defines a plurality of members configured to extend into the terminal cavities and engage the edge of two electrical terminals when the secondary locking mechanism is in the staged position, thereby further inhibiting removal of the electrical terminals from the terminal cavities.
