Abstract: The invention relates to an injector for injecting fuel, preferably for injecting a gaseous fuel, in particular hydrogen, comprising a fuel supply line for introducing a highly pressurized gaseous fuel, an active valve which can be actively shut off and which is designed to close or release at least one passage on a first face of a valve plate in order to selectively release or interrupt a fluidic connection between the fuel supply line and a region which is downstream of the first face of the valve plate, and a passive valve which is arranged downstream of the valve plate and can be passively switched to a closing or releasing state as a result of different pressure ratios upstream and downstream of the passive valve.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for determining a static flow rate of a piezo-electric injector of an injection system. The piezo-electric injector includes a needle and a piezo-electric actuator designed to control a valve of the injector. The injection system includes an electric generator designed to send electric current pulses to the piezo-electric actuator of the injector, and a voltage sensor designed to measure voltage values at the terminals of the piezo-electric actuator. The method includes the following steps: sending during a phase of closure of the needle of an electric current pulse such that the piezo-electric actuator is positioned in contact with the valve, without giving rise to the opening thereof; measurement of a plurality of voltage values of the piezo-electric actuator; and determining a static flow rate of the piezo-electric injector on the basis of a plurality of voltage values measured of the piezo-electric actuator.

Abstract: A fuel injector includes an injector body and a valve stack within the injector body that includes a valve seat plate. The valve seat plate includes a pressure control passage for controlling fuel injection, and a valve seat positioned fluidly between the pressure control passage and a low-pressure drain. The valve seat plate includes a pressure-limiting annular groove that extends circumferentially around the valve seat and axially inward from a side of the valve seat plate where the valve seat is located. The groove enables deformation in response to pressure differences across the valve seat plate in a manner that limits stress concentrations.

Abstract: A pressure detection unit detects a fuel pressure in high-pressure fuel passages. A drive control unit controls opening and closing of pressure adjusting valves based on a drive command signal output to the fuel injection valve. An acquisition unit acquires an inflection point of the fuel pressure detected by the pressure detection unit and an inclination of the fuel pressure after the inflection point appears, after an output of the drive command signal. A delay time computation unit computes a response delay time of the pressure adjusting valve with respect to the drive command signal for each of the first on-off valve and the second on-off valve based on the inflection point and the inclination acquired by the acquisition unit.

Abstract: A fuel system includes a plurality of fuel injectors connected to a common drain conduit, and a plurality of isolation valve assemblies each positioned fluidly between the common drain conduit and one of the plurality of fuel injectors. Each isolation valve assembly includes a valve member movable between a closed position to block an injection control valve assembly in the fuel injector from the common drain conduit, and an open position, and a biaser biasing the isolation valve member toward the closed position such that fuel injectors are isolated from fluid pressure pulses produced by nozzle check actuation to limit cross-talk among the fuel injectors.
