摘要: A cell culture apparatus includes a cell culture module including multiple cell culture chambers. A manifold connects the multiple cell culture chambers together along a side of the cell culture module. The manifold includes a side wall base structure connected to the side of the cell culture module and a column structure that is formed as a monolithic part of the side wall base structure. The column structure defines a fluid flow pathway through the manifold and to inlets to the cell culture chambers to allow filling and emptying of the cell culture chambers of liquid medium.

摘要: A method of carrying out a bioreaction in a multivessel bioreactor system may include flowing a culture medium at an initial flow rate through one or more fluidic paths between a master vessel and one or more slave vessels, detecting a first culture medium parameter value in the master vessel or the slave vessels, transmitting the first culture medium parameter value to a control system, determining an adjusted flow rate of the culture medium at the control system based on the first culture medium parameter value, and controlling a bidirectional fluid transfer device with the control system to adjust the flow rate of the culture medium through the one or more fluidic paths. The control system may adjust the flow rate of the culture medium to maintain a substantially uniform value of the first culture medium parameter value in the master vessel or the one or more slave vessels.

摘要: A culture module is contemplated that allows the perfusion and optionally mechanical actuation of one or more microfluidic devices, such as organ-on-a-chip microfluidic devices comprising cells that mimic at least one function of an organ in the body. A method for pressure control is contemplated to allow the control of flow rate (while perfusing cells) despite limitations of common pressure regulators. The method for pressure control allows for perfusion of a microfluidic device, such as an organ on a chip microfluidic device comprising cells that mimic cells in an organ in the body, that is detachably linked with said assembly, so that fluid enters ports of the microfluidic device from a fluid reservoir, optionally without tubing, at a controllable flow rate.

摘要: A flow electrotransfection device with a chamber for fluid to flow though, a liquid inlet channel for communicating with the chamber and a liquid outlet channel for communicating with the chamber, includes an electrode module for applying an electric field to fluid in the chamber, and further includes a fluid guiding structure for making flow velocities of fluid flowing through the central zone and the peripheral zone of the chamber tend to be consistent. The present disclosure solves the technical problem of relatively uneven the flow velocities of fluid at different zones in the flow electrotransfection chamber, improves the accuracy of the number of electric shock when the fluid flows though the chamber, thus improving the electrotransfection efficiency, and reduces the cell damage and even death from excessive times of electric shock, thereby improving cell viability.

摘要: Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems. For example, some embodiments described in this document are single-use, aseptic fluid coupling devices that can be coupled to create a sterile flow path therethrough. Some such aseptic couplings are genderless couplings such that two identical aseptic couplings can be coupled together and then latched to form a robust connection between the aseptic couplings.

摘要: Systems and methods relating to dynamic spargers for generating fine bubbles within reactors such as biological and chemical reactors. A sparger system is positioned within a reactor and comprises a support plate, multiple annular shrouds engaged with the support plate, and spargers positioned within the annular shrouds defining a gap between an interior surface of the annular shroud and an exterior surface of the corresponding sparger. Liquid flows through the defined gap between an interior surface of the annular shroud and an exterior surface of the sparger. Acceleration of the liquid through the gap shears bubbles at the exterior surface of the sparger creating bubbles or fine bubbles.

摘要: A culture vessel has a culture space therein and may culture cells in the culture space. The culture vessel includes a main flow path extending within a plane, and a secondary flow path that is adjacent to the main flow path in a direction perpendicular to the plane, extends in a direction intersecting the main flow path when viewed from a direction perpendicular to the plane, and partially overlaps the main flow path. The secondary flow path has a groove that is open to and communicates with the main flow path in an area where the secondary flow path overlaps the main flow path, and the culture space is a space within the main flow path, the space being opposed to a contact surface where the secondary flow path is in contact with the main flow path in the area where the secondary flow path overlaps the main flow path.

摘要: Scalable biomaterial-based bioreactors are described. In one embodiment, the bioreactor may comprise perforated plates stacked such that the assembled bioreactor has the necessary manifolds and chambers to transport gas and liquids to a biomaterial contained within the bioreactor, and to remove the reaction products. In another embodiment, single use bioreactors are described. Methods of operating the bioreactors are also described.
