Abstract: Provided is silica powder that, when used as a resin filler such as a semiconductor sealant, allows for obtaining a resin composition having excellent gap permeability and low viscosity. The silica powder is such that (1) a cumulative 50% mass diameter D50 of a mass-based particle size distribution obtained by a centrifugal sedimentation method is 300 nm to 500 nm (preferably, 330 nm to 400 nm), (2) a loose bulk density is 250 kg/m3 to 400 kg/m3 (preferably, 270 kg/m3 to 350 kg/m3), and (3) {(D90−D50)/D50}×100 is 30% to 45%. In a silica production method in which a silicon compound is burned, silica powder can be produced by installing a burner having a concentric multiple pipe structure of three or more pipes in a reactor which has a cooling jacket portion provided around the burner, and adjusting flame combustion conditions and cooling conditions.

Abstract: A method for fabricating a Bismuth-doped silica-based optical composition. The method has the steps of: depositing SiO2 to obtain a silica material, soaking the silica material into an aqueous Bismuth solution, incorporating GeO2 into the silica material, and vitrifying the silica material at a temperature greater than 1500° C. to obtain the Bismuth-doped silica-based optical composition. In some embodiments, the fabricated Bismuth-doped silica-based optical composition has GeO2 of greater than 12 mol % (such as 19 mol %) and is suitable for transmitting therethrough optical signals of one or more of E and S bands.

Abstract: Disclosed in the present application is a compound, comprising nano silicon, a lithium-containing compound and a carbon coating, or comprising nano silicon, silicon oxide, a lithium-containing compound, and a carbon coating. The method comprises: (1) solid-phase mixing of carbon coated silicon oxide with a lithium source; and (2) preforming heat-treatment of the pre-lithium precursor obtained in step (1) in a vacuum or non-oxidising atmosphere to obtain a compound. The method is simple, and has low equipment requirements and low costs; the obtained compound has a stable structure and the structure and properties do not deteriorate during long-term storage, a battery made of cathode material containing said compound exhibits high delithiation capacity, high initial coulombic efficiency, and good recycling properties, the charging capacity is over 1920 mAh/g, the discharging capacity is over 1768 mAh/g, and the initial capacity is over 90.2%.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a system for recycling carbon dioxide. The method includes chlorinating a calcium-containing silicate and/or a magnesium-containing silicate to obtain a calcium chloride and/or magnesium chloride, mixing the calcium chloride and/or magnesium chloride with ammonia water and carbon dioxide and performing a carbonation reaction to recover the carbon dioxide and convert it into calcium carbonate and/or magnesium carbonate while generating an ammonium chloride solution, and recovering the ammonium chloride solution generated in the carbonation reaction. The ammonium chloride solution after being concentrated or hydrogen chloride generated from a decomposition reaction of the ammonium chloride solution is directly used to chlorinate the calcium-containing silicate and/or the magnesium-containing silicate. The ammonium chloride is used as a catalyst for the entire mineralization of the carbon dioxide, the final product is the calcium carbonate and/or the magnesium carbonate.

Abstract: Commercially beneficial carbon-containing fractions can be recovered from hydrothermal liquefaction reactions in various types of processors. Feedstock slurry from waste solids is placed into a pressurized processor where it is maintained at temperature and pressure for a predetermined period. On discharge from the processor the processed discharge is separated into liquid and solid fractions. Gaseous fractions including carbon dioxide can also be removed or off-taken from the processor. New molecular structures are created in this reaction, resulting in fractions including biogas, biofuels, biosolids and biocrude. Silica, phosphates, potash and low concentration nitrogen based fertilizer, along with carbonaceous material can also be recovered.
