Abstract: A polymer composition of cross-linked fluoropolymers is provided, that is generated using a fluoropolymer compatibilizer. The cross-linked fluoropolymers have excellent mechanical and dielectric characteristics at high temperatures, making them useful for such applications as insulation for automotive communications cables and PCB laminates.

Abstract: A method of making a porous structure is described herein. The method includes combining a hard material comprising a carbonaceous material, an inorganic material, or a combination thereof, with a polymer blend to provide a mixture; and heating the mixture to a temperature effective to template the hard material, degrade the polymer blend and provide the porous structure comprising the hard material. Porous structures having a a solid continuous phase and a gaseous dispersed phase are also provided.

Abstract: The composition can include a fluoropolymer and a branched silsesquioxane polymer having terminal —Si(R3)3 groups and units having formula, in which * represents a bond to another silicon atom in the branched silsesquioxane polymer, R is an organic group comprising an aliphatic carbon-carbon double bond, and R3 is a non-hydrolyzable group or hydrogen. The fluoropolymer can be crosslinked with the branched silsesquioxane polymer. An article can include a first composition including a fluoropolymer in contact with a second composition including a silicone, wherein at least one of the first composition or second composition includes the branched silsesquioxane polymer. At least one of the fluoropolymer or the silicone can be crosslinked with a branched silsesquioxane polymer including terminal —Si(R3)3 groups and units having formula, in which R* is an organic group comprising a carbon-carbon bond between the branched silsesquioxane polymer and the fluoropolymer, the silicone, or another R* group.
