摘要: Embodiments of this disclosure pertains to methods for controlling adhesive bondline while cold-bending a glass substrate. The method includes forming a frame to define a viewing area at least partially surrounded by the frame; shaping the frame to include at least one curvature; positioning a spacer proximate the frame, the spacer comprising: a border area; and a protrusion extending from the border area; engaging the border area of the spacer with the frame to insert the protrusion through the viewing area, wherein the protrusion extends beyond the frame a first distance; positioning an adhesive between the frame and the glass substrate alongside the protrusion to control the bondline; engaging a glass substrate with the adhesive and the protrusion to cold form the glass substrate to the shape of the frame; and securing the glass substrate to the spacer to hold the frame against the adhesive to maintain the bondline.

摘要: A system and method are provided for forming one-way light transmissive layers implementing optical light scattering techniques in those layers, and to objects, object portions, lenses, filters, screens and the like that are formed of, or that otherwise incorporate, such one-way light transmissive layers. Processes are provided by which to form, or otherwise incorporate, one or more one-way light transmissive, or substantially transparent, object portions or layers in solid or hollow objects Individual one-way light transmissive layers are formed of substantially-transparent sub-micrometer spheres, including micro-particles and/or nano-particles, with nano-voids incorporated between them. Refractive indices of the sub-micrometer particles are tunable in order that the finished layers provide an opaque appearance when viewed from a light incident side that is rendered according to an individual user's desires, but that are substantially-transparent to light passing through the finished layers to areas or sensors behind those finished layers.

摘要: A method includes producing filamentary damages in a volume of a glass or glass ceramic element that are adjacently aligned along a separation line and that extend obliquely relative to a surface of the glass or glass ceramic element, and separating a portion from the glass or glass ceramic element along the separation line. The step of producing the filamentary damages includes directing laser pulses of an ultrashort pulse laser obliquely on the surface so that the laser pulses have a light propagation direction that extends obliquely relative to the surface and so that the filamentary damages resulting from the laser pulses have the longitudinal extension that extends obliquely relative to the surface, generating a plasma within the volume with the laser pulses, and displacing the laser pulses at points of incidence over the surface along the separation line.

摘要: An overlay applicator tray including a cradle including a device slot. The device slot is configured to securely hold an electronic device in the cradle. The overlay applicator tray also can include an overlay applicator. The overlay applicator can include an overlay layer and an adhesive release liner. The overlay layer can include a top side and a bottom side. The bottom side is configured to be adhered to a screen of the electronic device. The adhesive release liner is removably attached to the bottom side of the overlay layer. The overlay applicator tray additionally can include an alignment piece coupling the cradle to the overlay applicator. The alignment piece aligns the overlay layer of the overlay applicator with the screen as the overlay layer is applied to the screen when the electronic device is securely held in the device slot. The overlay applicator tray further can include a first pull tab on the adhesive release liner. The first pull tab is configured to be pulled to remove the adhesive release liner from the bottom side of the overlay layer and expose an adhesive of the overlay layer. Other embodiments are described.

The near-infrared and/or the near-ultraviolet radiations are scattered such that they are transmitted parallel to the face of the window to the photovoltaic cells, where an electrical current is generated.
